As an avid Bama bball fan, I'm just happy for our program. I've watched a lot of UConn this year and they are far above us and are the standard of college basketball. That being said I don't think our players will be scared of the moment. The last two seasons we've played Houston away, UConn, Gonzaga, North Carolina, Purdue, Creighton. Our non conference scheduling prepares us for this game. We might not win, but we should at least make it entertaining for the majority of the game. Good luck UConn fans! Roll Tide 🐘

Coaches have consistently said UConn is one of the hardest teams to prepare for because they are flexible enough to play in the half-court and execute in a running game, and defensively they are elite.

Any team can lose, but UConn 2024 team is not any team. Average victory including the title run last year is something like 23 point per game. This reminds me of the 1990s UNLV team.

At beginning of tournament, I thought it is so hard to go back to back…now I think it’s so hard to beat UConn.

Bama needs to make 15-3 pointers. UConn has to struggle to shoot from EVERYWHERE not just threes. And have a ton of foul trouble. For UConn the only real concern is having difficulty hitting 3s.

I seen enough of Uconn to know aint nobody beating that team. I dont know what it is but they are a lot tougher than the actual team that plays them think they are so you have no idea what everybody else is up against

Lol Uconn within 2 years, have played 19 powerhouse teams and some of yall on here talkin bout "Uconn ain't play nobody" lool. Beat Alabama last year in a tourney by 20. And I don't care about that "down by 4". The game was well over with, they didn't even at least take the lead smh. Uconn has had competition in last years March Madness, They played Gonzaga, a great team over the years. Uconn is just good all around, it's a difference when players know how to play as a team (which is what Uconn always been about). Prior to a player playing hero ball, that's what some of these powerhouse teams have, which is why they don't succeed winning championships. Uconn has that team chemistry, why you think they always have high win percentages and why their stats always efficient. TEAM BALL.

Clingan is very athletic lol. Hes an extremely mobile center, Edey is the anthemic one, and thst isn’t saying he’s bad, he’s just slow. Clingan can get a block and be down the court before everyone else and score.

UConn can only beat themselves they run 11 guys for those who doesn’t count and the Guards they have are Jim Calhoun era getting boards and let’s not forget free throws which have screwed many a teams. UConn has a legit 9 guys who they can score and in spurts and pick your poison, they keep playing that system, and also they shot terribly the last 2 games and still blew Both teams out, they ready. REPEAT

UConn by double digits. They can play small or big , our guards can rebound when we killed SDST on the boards. Sears is getting shut down. We heard the same about Shannon and Boo Booey who are better players.

UConn dominates with defense. They’ve held every opponent in the tourney in the 50s…they won’t hold Bama in the 50s. UConn got smoked by 20 at Creighton. Bama controlled their game at Creighton and only lost by 3. UConn probably wins easily ultimately but watch out. Bama can score.

Fair enough, but that Creighton team that night at one point hit 14 of 16 shots. And half were 3s. They just got ungodly hot from deep. Maybe Bama can do that, too. We shall see.

IF YOU ALLOW THOSE LAST REFEREES (NE DUDES) TO GET NEAR AN NCAA COURT AGAIN, THEN ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN. If referees call fouls, then the game should be interesting. I do not think anyone can match the combination of size and athleticism that that U Conn brings to the court, especially with their rim-protector center. While I do not think Illinois would have won, we fans were deprived of the game we expected by the absurd job done officiating. Those dudes forgot they even had whistles. The announcers were right: NBA is better officiated (actually calls falls from contact as impactful as the contact early in the game. Unlike Illinois fans protesting the matchup, that is what happens when you a 3 seed (instead of the 2 they could have had but for losses that are inexplicable..at Pen State in high school gym, e.g.). The officiating we witnessed last night is nothing like the officiating in any other region of the country. That makes the tournament unfair. The philosophy of refereeing should be the same in all regions of the same NCAA. I almost never go for Alabama, but, in basketball, I will hope the underdog outplays the NE.

30-0 run was so phoney. Every call was going uconn's way. Illini had zero calls during that stretch despite getting beat up multiple times going to the basket. Uconn was going to win anyway so I didn't understand the officiating

I just don't understand how anyone can complain about fouls after watching a Purdue game.. Uconn literally had more fouls than Illinois 16 to 14. Uconn was out running them not stopping the game every 30 secs for free throws... (zach edey) bro 25 fouls in 40 mins of play 🤣 22 FT attempts. Uconn didn't get bailed out by the refs
