I feel Stipe is not in his prime anymore and wouldn't be much of a match for Jon Jones after Ngannou KO but he's still one of the HW goats and I would still watch it. BUT I can't wait to see Jones against scarier opponents like Pavlovich, Aspinall and Almeida or wrestlers in Spivac and Romanov.

He won't fight any of them. None of them have the name he's looking for and they won't add anything more to his legacy except being very risky fights. He has/had nothing to prove and deserves only people like Stipe and Ngnannou (which will never happen now). He said he's retiring after 2 more fights anyways in his latest interview so.

Jon aint fighting all them. Francis will be called out after stipe, and we will be lucky of he takes 1 of them for a 3rd title fight or 4th if francis comes back and fights him. He had been said he wanted Francis, and stipe before possibly retiring.

It's a shame Stipe isn't a prime version of himself. He's got enough skills to do better than Gane, & while age doesn't play as much of a factor at HW as it does in other divisions, it still factors & against Jon, especially if he comes in lighter it could be a problem. But if he can connect, anything is possible. That's the beauty of HW.

*Stipe is 41, past his prime and at a stylistic disadvantage.* Stipe will need to focus on cardio and smothering Jones’s offence. Be the first to shoot for takedowns. Make Jones work and hit the body like he did to DC. Nullify Jones’s reach and kicks. Aspinall and Blaydes are the best chances of beating Jones. Stipe gained so much weight back because he thought he was versing Ngannou. Stipe should lean back to about 240lbs, that extra endurance and speed will be needed.

After jones fights stipe don’t expect to see him fight any contenders unless Dana and the company up his pay again. It’s why he’s been so clear on the fact he only wants to fight 2-3 times total. He only wants to fight stipe next and that could be his last fight. After he’s clearly the goat in everyone’s eyes even tho he already is he will use this as fuel for negotiating. So don’t get too attached to the idea of him fighting contenders with small names unless he gets that big pay boost he’s currently working towards. He being very smart saying he might be done after stipe.

Common opponent, Cormier; Stipe was knocked out and has knocked out DC, and Jones defeated DC twice (decision and knockout). Biggest takeaway is Jones took DC's best punches while Stipe crumbled, other then that they both matched up to DC. I think Jones is stronger now and if he drops back down 235ish as he indicates he should get his speed back (biggest thing is Jones does not drop his weight too much).

All due respect to Stipe, but this isn't a contest. Five or six years ago, sure, that would have been a dogfight. But now Stipe is old and seriously damaged.
