Prevent Water Spots in Every Wash | Adam's Portable Water Deionizer

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

We've been preventing water spots for years using pH neutral shampoos and spraying detail spray onto the vehicle after you rinse as a drying aid. However, the most effective method of avoiding water spots is to stop the source of the spots: minerals in your water supply. Adam's Portable Water Deionizer ensures that there are no impurities in the water you use to rinse your car, stopping water spots at the source. Check out this video to see how it works and how to set it up.

    I bought this back in September and it’s definitely worth the investment. To be fair, I’m constantly detailing cars in direct sunlight since I run a business. If you’re just a car enthusiast looking for a way to avoid water spots while working in direct sunlight, this is definitely for you. If you think about it, Adams constantly has discounts so you’re really only paying $320 for approximately 1-2 years of use (if you wash your car once a week) before refilling. To put it simple, no more water spots, no more rushing around, thicker foam from a foam canon, and no drying necessary in direct sunlight. Ive left the cars in direct to dry and never had an issue.

    Kinetico used to make a van mounted water softener looked very similar to that. To be clear it was not a deionizer. I used it for carpet cleaning. It never had to have resin replaced as it had a brine rinse cycle and double vessel system. It was great but I graduated up to a large van mounted reverse osmosis system. Bought it from a window cleaner who used deionized water to clean windows. This was years back.

    Are you talking about that handheld thing you attached to a hose? It had a removable filter canister in it and a soap reservoir, and you'd switch to filtered for your final rinse? Whatever happened to that thing? I remember using and liking it, don't remember what happened to it. I bought it at 16 when I got my first car. A '91 Mazda RX-7. Insurance was around $250 a month because it was a turbo and I was 16. Worth it. I got a '93 twin turbo a year later. Wrecked it. Got an Explorer. 😁👍

    Hi! Sorry we missed this comment! Our Standard Portable Water Deionizer can filter up to 1100 gallons with the included resin, depending on the quality of the water source. Deionized water can expire over time when exposed to air and carbon dioxide, so you will want a sealed HDPE plastic container to store it. You will also want to store it out of direct sunlight. Having said that, the benefit of the deionizer being portable is that you can hook it up to regular water in your storage tank and then deionize it from there :thumbsup:

    Dump resin trash? No recycling? So much environmental waste. I've looked into these systems for a couple years and some companies buy back (give you credit) used resin but in the end, you need a pressure washer, a dolly to haul around the filter and time to change and dispose the resin. I think most resin systems last 10 washes (as long as you are frugle with it) and you need new resin costing $70-80. So, I just put it off as it seems too much of a hassle. Just wash your car not in direct sunlight, squeegee your windows, and go on a post wash test drive to evaporate your water. Very minimal water spots. Zero additional costs.

    Yeah, you have to be *slightly* mechanically inclined to unscrew a couple of valves and use a funnel. Most auto detailing enthusiasts who will be using this are a little more than slightly mechanically inclined so it's really not a hassle for them.

    @@Oosik91 I think it would be ok if you got bigger funnel with a wider head and neck. But what's more important are the reviews of the pressure washer 2.0. A lot of people complaining about how Adam's is STILL skimping on quality even though they stated they learned a lesson from the last version. It says a lot about the company as a whole.

    Yeah, it seems you need to do this after 1 or 2 washes. It would take less time to use a spot remover. LOL. Then you have to let the water evaporate in the bucket before dumping it? Now my garage gets to smell like fish eggs for 3 months. No thanks.

  • @AdamsPolishes

    @AdamsPolishes

    Жыл бұрын

    Close but not exactly. Water softeners remove hard minerals from water, but do not change the overall mineral level in the water - they exchange hard minerals for other minerals. A water deionizer attempts to remove all minerals from water, to get the Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) reading down to as close to zero as possible.
