Pressure Volume loops | USMLE STEP 1

* This info is given on page no. 276 in first aid 2015 and page no. 270 in first aid 2016.
* You can also create loops for dec. in Preload, Afterload and Contractility.
* Facebook - / meetpatelmd
* Email ID - fastaidstep1@gmail.com
* If you are first or second year medical student or if you have more than one year to prepare for USMLE Step 1 or any other exam then I strongly recommend you to watch Dr. Najeeb lectures to make your concepts very clear. If you don't have enough time to prepare for USMLE Step 1 then I would not recommend you to go through all the videos of Dr. Najeeb, just watch Neurology and Immunology.

    But in ventricular filling the pressure on the walls should also increase as the volume is increasing This can be seen in compliance graph clearly that pressure and volume both are increasing

    There is an increase in end diastolic volume but there is also an increase in stroke volume and thus ESV should remain stable if both the previous parameters are increased equally. It's been a while since I reviewed this topic and I don't have access to all the material at this stage so please double check this information

    Isn't is the semilunar valves that open when blood is ejecting into the aorta, not the av valves
