having a tough time making the longer flakes on heat treated agate and jasper. Any advice?

I've not had a chance to work with agate or jasper, but I think the principles would be the same as other materials. Can you remove long flakes from other types of material?

@@yonderoutdoors I do pretty well with obsidian (an occasional overshot) but even treated jaspers and agate are a little sturdier and the flakes dont seem to travel as well, plus its slabbed material. Ive seen othe knappers do pretty well with it. Im a woman, maybe Im just not strong enough😄

@@winnievanorden1 It's more about leverage than strength and gender is irrelevant...here's a link to Noel Grayson showing a different way to create leverage for preasure flaking kzread.info/dash/bejne/jKB7mLOCnJa0nJc.html he's the one that got me into flint knapping years ago. Is the slab a thin preform that your just pressure flaking or do you start with percussion?
