I dont understand really all the harsh criticism Southgate gets. He’s to safe which is boring to watch we played brilliant against Netherlands it was safe and attacking which is how our team should be playing not safe and defensive. England, Spain and Germany on paper have the best squads and should be whipe washing every team they come against. Germany and Spain did make it look easy but our team which is arguably better then both them teams struggled against Switzerland and Slovakia

No manager has been better experienced than Gareth, he's been through the entire set-up, played in World Cups been to a semi as a player, managed the youth team, managed the senior team to over 100 games, got to two finals, one semi and one quarter. Outstanding record and he will go down in history as our most successful manager. Noone will come close in the future mark my words. The future will be back to the days of struggling to qualify and getting knocked out by supposedly weaker nations. I am positive if a different manager was at this Euros we would probably not of got out the group and if we had we would have slipped up against Slovakia or Switzerland. Southgate has been a master of getting the job done and those fools who think expansive attacking football is how you get to finals they're sorely mistaken. The only way Spain could do that is because they had two incredible wingers in Williams and Yamal, such high possession and pressed so aggressively and tirelessly out of possession. England are not capable of that.

For everyone crying about the penalty - shush. Kane got to the ball first and, with the ball still in play, the defender made late contact which is a foul anywhere else on the pitch. So in the box it’s a clear cut penalty.

We been playing this whole tournament without a striker. Kane spends more time in midfield Southgate is way too cautious. I don't see this tactic working against Spain. We need Watkins up front making the runs in behind. He needs to drop kane to stand any chance of beating Spain but he won't. It's such a sad state of affairs this loyalty he has with certain players is going to cost us any chance we actually have of winning this tournament.

Doesn't seem right that they don't have the semi-finals on the same day, giving one team a day more rest.

Truthfully Bellingham hasn't justified his place for me besides his last min winner. He's been slightly better than until the last game. However when Bellingham plays well Foden doesn't. I don't think that's a coincidence. Foden requires the team to play on their intelligence and then the game can be channelled through him. We saw the benefit of that in the last game. Up until then he was throwing his arms up and looking disgruntled because players weren't playing smart and were giving possession away too cheaply. Bellingham on the other hand requires the freedom to vacate his position and play with no tactical discipline to be effective. If he has to hold a position and he cannot influence the game with his energy he's ineffective. He's strength is in his ability to play with tactical and strategic abandon. That's why he looks half the player when tired imo. He doesn't control games like a typical cultured midfielder. I'm not hating I'm trying to say when assessing a teams ability you have to look at how each player makes the team function as a team on the whole. It won't happen but I would sacrifice Foden or Bellingham based on form. I don't believe both will ever be effective in the same team because each requires to be the focal point.

Not proactive enough, with a team he's had for a long time....however they're there and no doubt can hurt Spain. Just don't think Kane should be upfront for 90 minutes...need pace in behind when spain push. With their width 3-5-1-1 ain't gonna work

Don’t like him as a manager but we played phenomenal, good enough to give Spain a run for their money. I don’t know if we’ve been giving a false sense of hope to the big sides in the tournament but the same team looked like a new team. That doesn’t happen in a week surely we’ve waited until we’ve played a top side to suprise them as we’ve had an easy run so far

I think you're wrong simply because if Kane is allowed to wrap his foot around the ball it's a goal. The Dutch player put his boot high to catch kane's foot causing injury.

@@davidsedlickas8222 mate, all I know is he got the shot off, his follow through hit the player. Defenders have to be allowed to defend. Professional commentators and former players who know better than me didn’t think it was a penalty so I’ll go with them.

What an extremely weak answer about the penalty, I haven’t seen it. Nobody believes this with 200 camera’s around the pitch. Be a man and just say you’re gratefull for getting such a free gift from the ref. Decisions like this kills the game. It wasn’t a foul but a defender trying to block the shot. No english ref would have given this present in the Premier Leaugue.
