@@BVking509 because they’re a team and a very good team, it’s not about the individuals it’s how well they work for eachother.. Dembele one of the fastest wingers in the world Burn kept him quiet probably because I can’t imagine Dembele has came up against a 6 foot 7 left back, his presence alone is crucial to our game then we could talk about his leadership and so on.. Burn is absolutely crucial to our squad man people just don’t see these things, met him a few times aswell such a canny lad aswell

@@DYL2020 Firstly Dembele beat Burn in the first 2 minutes and put a good shot wide, later in the 2nd half Dembele broke again, Dan Burn now where to be seen skied a shit, so your definition of quiet is not a statistical one. He's been done by Elanga, Adebayo, Rafa Leao and many other wingers. He is targeted by other teams for a reason. That reason is pace and positioning

Re Big Dan. For me it’s not a case of DB having a bad game its more of a case that against some teams there are times where DB is going to be out run time and time again on the wing and once he is beaten on the wing the ball is whipped in and the shortfall is that once beaten DB can not be in two places at once to then use his height to clear the cross.

Agreed. Some games call for a Dan Burn and some don’t. EH has to start Tino on the games we don’t need a DB and also be able to make a switch quickly if he starts the wrong guy. Loyalty is admirable but there are bigger issues. No fault of DB

Dan Burn is better against inverted wingers, plays very well, I would play Tino against out and out right footed wingers

I'm still 100% behind Eddy I hear the totally valid point from friends about Livramento not getting a start over Dan burn and I don't know why Tino isn't getting more minutes as he seems to be absolutely mint .Eddy will have his reasons I'm sure ✌️⚫⚪⚫⚪

Many people don't. Each time NUFC posted their starting lineups, Tino's name was always trending a little on Twitter because people know how silly it is to start Burn over him. Burn is a 30 something bloke with no England future to chase, Tino needs need the starting position for his future. AND, he didn't do anything to deserve to get benched again as soon as Burn returned. Ridiculous.

Thanks for the microphones to the journalists. Now you can hear those who use microphones well. Some ignore it, but then you can use subtitles so it works ok. Eddie as good as ever.

Dan Burn was not at fault and shouldn't be blamed, he did not have a bad game he just lacked pace against one of the leagues fastest players and Eddie put him in that situation.

@@mikem9309 he’s slow to change sometimes, but got it right against Villa, a tired DB was never going to get the best of a fresh Bailey after marking out of the game, one of the trickiest players in the league, Diaby. Don’t see it myself, the game is far more tactical now. He’s lacking in the area from me and that’s the difference between a good manager and an elite one

Keiran to LB (he's done it for England) Tino to start at RB, Dan's done a valiant job playing his part getting us here, he is the Toon but it's bench time. We love him to bits & hope he has a part to play yet.

I love BDB, but we do get targeted down that side and it seems to easy to get passed him. I am a huge fan of him just not at LB. Would prefer Tino playing out of position in there, or move tripps over

I don't understand the sound levels for these conferences. I could only hear 1 reporter very clearly and the rest sound like they're mumbling. If Howe doesn't drop a name, it's sometimes very difficult to figure about whom he's speaking. It's very frustrating.

in this day and age you would think we would atleast have some kind of floating mic for the reporters questions ? surely hard watch every week , its a shame really

I understand it’s important for the club to have at least one Geordie in the starting XI. The problem is only Miley (possibly) is good enough for the next level. Burn and Longstaff will become outstanding Championship players.

I’m a little perplexed in some of Eddie’s answers..his responses to injury asked questions leaves a lot to be desired…I realise he’s not a doctor but, the fans want a bit more than ‘it’s not too serious’…. And I think he contradicts himself at times…at one point he’s frustrated with the amount of injuries and his lack of options to rotate then he refers to last season when he had a settled side and the defence was rock solid…a little confused I must admit.

He's probably pissed off with having to face the same questions week after week, after week, after week, even though there are no updates as nothing has changed. It's good you concede that Eddie isn't a doctor. But you also need to accept that he doesn't have a crystal ball, and like he said, he doesn't know when a player will be back until they're back.

⁠@@leechefskiYep I’m sure he’s pissed off a bit with the same questions and TBF until today(Craig Hope) no one has asked him for a definite time..of which I’m sure Eddie is asking in the background..everyone is frustrated I suppose and I agree there’s no crystal ball…but, I think we all questioned at the beginning of the season Wilson & Isak were a dodgy pairing…ie we couldn’t rely on ..

I love Eddie Howe and I hope he’ll do brilliant things at the club in the future but you can’t help but think he’s making a rod for his own back by sticking with players who are out of form when there’s a much much better option he’s not using. Dan burn is the wrong tool for Forrest because of their pace, as was he for Luton but Eddie still played him. If it keeps costing us points the owners surely will be weighing up their options as they want to progress asap

For long spells this season, Eddie hasn't been picking the team, favourites or not. We've been so threadbare that the team has virtually picked itself. Burn is just the latest in a long line of scapegoats, but the fact is, not a single player has been "on form", consistently, this entire season. Tino has done well in the handful of games he's played, but he's a kid, and i worry how our fickle fanbase will react when/if he has an absolute stinker.

It's to do with the contract and FFP if he plays too many minutes then cost will be £35 mil, if he doesn't it's closer to £25 which is why you haven't seen more, it's also about when the payment is made

Seen him play a few times and apart from the goal he scored he’s been poor. Weak on the ball, poor passing, positionally he was all over the place. He’s just not ready, he’s got potential but at the minute he’d struggle to start for a championship side.

Big dan is an excellent player. His pace has let him down against one of the fastest wingers in the league name any players that wouldn't get done for pace off obengo.? The toon did well as a team in attack but as a team the toon fell apart in defensive duties. No single player to blame for that draw against a good attacking team that is fighting to stay in the league. You would think we got spanked. 4 nil the way fans are going on.

"I'll not just pick the same players", "I don't think making changes necessarily helps the team" I'm guessing Eddie will be starting with BDB, I just hope this is not going to be Eddie's Achilles' heel (like Southgate) sticking with players and not making the changes when needed.

"Louse Hall had done really well...".Lewis Hall never seeing the pitch week after week...come on Eddie you can't keep saying we have no one in midfield but you keep saying we buy players who can play multiple positions... it is really self-contradictory! Anyways up the toon. Beat the Forrest and regain some dignity.

He really needs to get out of this sticking to the same 11 frame of mind, it's one of the few things I think will prevent him from progressing himself and us as a team.

The blue card sort of becomes a bit pointless at a certain point in the game. With the last 10 minutes left you might as well give a red card. Also it will almost certainly slow the game right down if a team loses a player for 10 minutes they’ll almost certainly waste time

What surprises me is alreet we are aal entitled to wor opinions but Eddie knaas better than us with his team selections and if he gans for Dan Burn I back his decision.

We would get more from Eddie, if the questions from the journalists were more demanding and investigative. He is never tested on the difficult subjects.

Eddie looking back will get you sacked, forgot what the players have done in the past, keep looking forward.

Eddie, most of us also love Dan Burn but the problem is he DOES seem guaranteed a start, despite what you said. And that unfairness to Tino and other left backs is what is creating the bad feeling. You could change this by making clear Burn is not one of your 'undroppables' if he's not playing well. Even when he doesn't play he doesn't seem to have to wait for his chance as he's back in the team at the earliest opportunity, regardless of how well someone like Tino might have done in the position.

Can the club sort the audio out? At least give the jurno a mic!

Exposing dan burn to fast wingers is destroying our league points total this season, stubbornness is not a good trait for any manager of people or players in any sport. Its not fair on burn to take the flak for not being able to keep pace, recover or even give yards and still loose the race. Burn is a very decent defender at centre back along side a quick partner. Im beyond frustrated with this unnecessary saga, kraft, hall, livramento and targett (injured) are all capable of playing there so if he persists with giving the opposition an avenue to beat us because of stubbornness then its time to make a change now, afterall eddie will never progress with that attitude. Give the team to a manager that doesn't sacrifice points to continue with a bad strategy in selection. Southgate 2.0

Did you even watch Tino each time he played? Tell me ONE SINGLE reason he deserved the bench as soon as Burn came back. If the reason for Burn starting is set piece, then how come you still conceded from set pieces where he was on the pitch? Again, NOT EVEN CHELSEA will start Burn over Tino.

i think its down to him starting to cost us points with his pace and being Exposed with our better players being out like Pope J7 Wilock Anderson who would normally protect him better and having a much better player on the bench in Tino there was a reason why the whole stadium were singing Tino's name after Luton scored 4 and were targeting Burn
