@@MississippiHomesteadJourney I was arrested in NJ, charged relative to an illegal shotgun. I was arraigned, never indicted, tried, found guilty. Federal Records in Newark, NJ have nothing. And I mean nothing. FBI claims they would deny me, not based on the arrest, but of "the sentence I might have received had I been found guilty". NCIS, which Tennessee uses for their background checks, lists the arrests, but not a disposition of that arrest. They claim they got no response for a request for my record. TBI denies me on application. Upon appeal, I'm granted a "conditional permit" which may as well be a denial.
