It resembles a Uniden 980 SSB with the display that looks like a Anytone AT 5555N2 ...

Lovely looking radio for sure, fingers crossed that it works as good as it looks. Anytone type board, similar to Ares II/SS3900/SS6900V/SS7900V so should work very well.

I really like it. I missed out on the Grant II when they were available.

Nice to see you finally got it buddy and it looks rather tidy. I know we complain about Chinese products but if it is anything like the Various latest Anytone breeds i think it will be a canny and stable little Radio. Enjoyed that overview Dave Thanks.

Cheers Dave. I'm interested in seeing how it performs, although I'm not going to buy it (no laughing at the back) as I'm still over the moon with the new 3900. It's probably going to cost £100 more than the 3900 anyway.

Thanks for the comment, well I've been using my 3900 most of the year, so time to put the George II in it's place tomorrow and see how it performs 🙂

Great stuff Dave, glad to see one. I’ve recently purchased a crt 7900 as I’d given up hope. You might know these are coming out a month after🤣 and I’ve been waiting for 2 years! I look forward to the forthcoming videos on it. Cheers Dave, regards, Tim HT Warwickshire.

I must admit I like the 7900 too and I’m not sure what extra someone would get if they had a 7900 or the Grant 2 premium??

I am pleased with the 7900, quite a few of us have them now, only thing really is they seem to have scratches on the screens where the box has been rubbing. Work well, don't overheat even when flat out. Cash you soon Dave. Regards, Tim

I wonder if the filtering will be as good as previous radio's that had the Murata filter?

I have a teardrop mic 4 pin, which connector do i buy to convert to 6 pin president for this radio? or do i have to have it re- wired?

Hi, my brand new George II came with the ONE of the warranty seals broken. On the other side it is intact. Should I return it?

Just a note, the usb socket is 5v "2.1 amp" not 1amp. Should've gone to spec savers lol. Nice radio, like the chrome effect reminds me of the uniolines/audiodens100/200's - 240/340's. Thanks

@@m0ogy well if it's any consolation, no one can tell, your videos are superb, informative, straight to the point and detailed. You must put a lot of effort into making them and it can't always be easy, but you still do them for others to enjoy and learn from. I have had much enjoyment, know how and good decisions on what equipment to buy and money to spend because of You as I know many others must have too. You make a positive contribution to the world bud. Keep it going, and again, thanks for all the videos and content you produce.

Do you know if it can be turned up from the 12 watts? I doubt it needs that heat sink and holes in the upper case if it can't. I\m presuming the 4 watts am/fm, 12 watts ssb is for the UK market?

@@m0ogy I really hope they fixed the problems that came with the Lincoln 2+. I had one from new and it was very disappointing. The receive was terrible. I know they weren't all like that, but there was something very wrong with some of the Lincoln 2's that President were not willing to acknowledge.

İ think that the President George II does NOT look like the first President George. İ find the President George II looking like an Anytone 5555n or the CRT SS 7900V Turbo. The screen has the same orange yellow colour!

Maybe because it is made 30 years after the original radio, I'm not sure what point you are making, whatever it is a great radio
