Great Work, really enjoy your hands on common sense approach. Trapped some 50-years, and just started making beaver oil, fish oil, bait, lure, and trail oil / lure. Keep up your excellent efforts! Thank You, Alaska John

I just watched your other video on bait and I'm curious would coon meat work for bait? I mean any meat would probably work but would it work good is what I'm wondering?

No, coon meat has always been a poor choice for bait, not sure why but people generally don't have good luck with it

@@trappingtoday thank you for not letting me end up wasting my time. That's interesting to me, I would have thought a nice greasy coon would make decent bait

Hey man. I have 22 beavers id like to taint for this coming fall. Do you have any suggestions on tainting the meat and portioning it for marten boxes?

Do you have to taint them?

No. It sends off more scent for the martan though.

True. I use whole or parts of critters for bait, never tried grinding any up. But we don't have Marten here either, a little dog food or cat food works for most of what I trap. :)

I think it’s weird how canines react differently in each area. I prefer extremely tainted baits for coyotes here. The louder the bait, the better my catch goes up here.
