What a lovely, high quality car. Where we live in a "throw away society". The interior just puts you into a "different world" when looking out. Its almost on a par with a Rolls Royce; almost coach built. The design looks very mellow indeed, but in the launch back in 1986, how do you improve on the Mk3 designed by Pinafarina back in 1980 ? I am just pleased to see that you have preserved and cared for the car, which is now gaining in value. We both know the cars that dominated the new and used market place, and "knocked" your car out of the market. Which now, all these years on makes your car all the more special. Well done, I'm pleased.

Nice XJ40! Those are very nice cars and what makes it special is I has a very reliable engine the AJ6. But I’m a big Jaguar/Daimler fan.

getting one this week that doesnt run (yet) 3.6 XJ40 I wont give up on them.. Just wish I had a garage.

video with no context you did not tell us anything but it was Ok to watch another XJ40 Daimler.

The XJ40 is a quality motor. Look at the interior of an XJ40 then compare it to the equivalent Mercedes and BMW from the time.

I prefer the straight six engines (as seen here) over the later V8 units.

mine is maroon, cream interior, and finish the color of the car, great car when it is perfect, I hope to make long trips and fatastci.

It will cost you nothing if it does not ever break.

It cost the same as normal present car if you purchase it in good state (one owner, papers etc). Parts are cheap and the mechanic was done punctually those days, not like today (todays car - engine sized like from mower and power as from the tank = a recipe for short life of car)
