Driving the luxury Daimler 4.0i Driving With Gloves

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

In this episode of Driving With Gloves, Cor drives a wonderful luxurious Daimler. It was a very cold winter's day and light was perhaps not the best. But the Daimler drove perfect.
Thanks to Auto Vogel & Partner AG in Switzerland, hecould drive this Daimler XJ-40 from 1992.

Either you're a fairly big guy or the backseat is not so spacious. VERY cool video driving a car like that in winter. Enjoying your channel for some time now. You've got the knack.

Another great video Cor. BRRRRR the snow and gray skies makes for very cold weather, I know it's winter but still, too cold for me. Here in Perth Downunder we've just gone into autumn and it's 33c Degrees and 20c overnight. Anyway keep 'em coming your videos, perhaps you could do one on the Land Rover Discovery 1998 series not the 5 cylinder one but the 2.5 Turbo Diesel. Cheers from Perth.

I always learn something new in your videos! You live in a beautiful country. Roads clear of snow soon after a snowfall? That NEVER happens here in the US. - Paul B, USA

Vespanation you are right, everything is extremely well organized here. And I do say that as a foreigner living in Switzerland. Of course it happens here also, if there is a lot of snow, that the main roads have a higher priority than the b-roads.

Cor, thank you for the great video. I enjoyed every minute of it. When the Jaguar engineers were asked about the too narrow engine bay they replied that they had to make new collision beams in the bay that would better absorb the impact in case of a frontal collision. Then Ford spent millions of dollars to redesign the engine bay to accommodate the 6L V12 engine. As far as I now, dropping a 5.3L engine in a Series III cars is doable, it's not the case with the XJ40s. You'd better buy an XJ81 if you want a 12 cylinder engine under the hood with XJ40 body. The XJ40s have less body pressings and stronger body structure than it's predecessor. Outboard rear brake discs and one fuel tank with one filler cap. The transmission selector is called the J gate but sometimes it's also called the Randle handle, named after Jim Randle Jaguar's then engineering chief.

In the US, no Daimler. So the 'top line' was the Vanden Plas version. I've seen a couple of the "Majestic" -trimmed VDP's here, but both were very beat

Does Daimler produces bikes? I know Peugeot does. And Triumph only produces motorcycles nowadays and no cars anymore.
