Present Simple Tense in English - Grammar lesson
The present simple tense - English grammar lesson.
Learn how to make simple sentences in English with the present simple tense (sometimes called the simple present tense).
We look at affirmative sentences in the present tense.
Learn how to use the S at the end of verbs in the third person.
We learn how to create negative sentences in the present simple tense using DON'T and DOESN'T.
We also show the exceptions when DON'T and DOESN'T are not used in negative sentences.
We look at the difference between DON'T and DOESN'T with example sentences and the reason why we remove the S at the end of the verbs in negative sentences.
Next we look at how to make questions in the present simple tense using DO and DOES.
We look at the difference between DO and DOES and the reason why we remove the S at the end of the verbs in questions.
We end this English grammar lesson with a summary chart of the present simple tense (includes the structure for affirmative and negative sentences as well as for making questions).
See our English lesson about the Present Simple Tense here:

Includes our summary charts and a transcript of most of what was said in this video.

Hi, Woodward, thank you so much for such high quality videos, I really like them. I have a problem here and I would really appreciate it if you could help me explain it. When verb conjugations are shown, normally only pronoun subjects are shown, but what if the subject is a noun or something like 'you and David", what conjunctions should we use?
@WoodwardEnglish

You and David = You (plural) David and I = We David and John = They

Sir does the simple present ( S+V+O) pattern like (I eat a mango and he plays tennis )like this example only should we use in a positive and negative questions sir?.... And then the verb+ object is( play cricket) If someone ask a question do you play cricket ?....but actually I don't have an habit of play cricket now how will I answer the questions sir ?....
