Thank you Liza .
I have been here for a long time. I have not been there for a long time. I have not been there in a long time. For the first time in a long time I am happy.
👍👍👍
Great!... We also(in Colombia) use those phrases in Spanish ...en mucho tiempo, durante mucho tiempo y por mucho tiempo. That's why I can get the use of this structure in English... thanks a lot...see ya
Very interesting! “For a long time” can be used in positive and negative ways. “In a long time” it’s only used in a negative way. Thanks!
Thank you!😊
For the first time in a long time, I understood better the difference among both prepositions! Takeaway: For a long time: Past- present- future No only is used in negative sentences but also positive sentences. in a long time: Past- present- future in negative sentences and superlative. Thanks again!
It’s been a Long time!

Honestly, I did not know that I needed this video for a long time.
Thanks a lot Liza!!:)
love love you both from Bangkok, Thailand
Thanks for a clear explanation. I am wondering if it is possible to use those two above mentioned expressions in an Interrogative form.
I tend to say "in such a long time", and now I realize "such" is just a redundancy
So can't we use "in" when expressing negation in perfect countinues ,like I have been doing this in a long time ? Or in this case does only positive work ?
