Thanks for sharing Steve.
Looks good Steve. You’ve preplanned this 300g build out nicely. It’ll come to fruition soon.. 👍
Awesome! I had CA build a 180 and I thought it was huge! haha Amazing!
Dude, that automatic water change system is awesome, but looks so complicated.
Looking good bro
Good stuff man!
What a great set up
Looks good man, can’t wait to see the tank. I’m from Ohio too! Good to see someone close 👍
For the lid on the Rubbermaid bin you could use that sheet plastic like the King of DIY uses on his big tanks, cut it to fit the top, then use a couple clamps to hold it down. That way there’s still air getting in the tank from the way the plastic is puckered, but your fish is too big to get out.
Awesome can’t wait to see the finish product
Great... we don't matter. Waaaaah! Ok, I'm over it. I siphon my water into the yard... when I got the 180g, it was taking me 90 minutes to do a 90% water change using a python. I made my own siphon out of 1.25" pvc.... 8 minutes per water change. Biggest time saver ever! Can't wait to see the next video!
Hey steve, are you going to show us the costs of this 300gallon project?
Hi Steve. How do you know when it is time to replace your chlorine filters? How often do you test and how? I have a similar system that I just fired up. Two sediment filters and two chlorine filters. Test strips are pretty hard to read, especially at low (.5ppm ) levels. Thank's and I really enjoy your channel.

Hey Larry. This is a great question. I wish I had a solid answer. We have so little chlorine in our water here that the second two filters could probably last for many years. I have just been replacing them every 6 months or so to be safe. The sediment filters every three months. This is all probably overkill but it's better to be safe than sorry.
Nice one! If you are going to sell the stock tank, I would go as cheap as possible on a temporary lid, like a roll of plastic hardware cloth or patio screen, and put a dozen clamps around the edge, I use twinwall polycarb lids, but that's a more permanent solution

I actually have some old poly lids from when I used a stock tank as a sump but they're kind of cut up. I was thinking about just throwing a piece of plywood over it with a few holes drilled in it and some rocks to weigh it down. He will hopefully only be in there for 24 hours.

I am not necessarily going to sell it. I was just saying that I could
How many flauv do I need for 300 gallon?
Hey Steve...sorry if I missed it but did you ever discuss the cost of that new tank?

@@thanhtrinh0202 ...right...is that 2 or 92? I just don't like promoting a company and then not being forthright aboutv their prices.

A 300g like this is around $6k with the same options. But it can be customized in a bunch of different ways. All of their pricing is on their website.

@@StevePolandAquatics thanks...i know they have prices online...was curious about the size you got. Thanks again, that helps.
I hope that you haven't been paying plywood prices for what you call plywood!

Eh, if you say OSB people don't know what you're talking about.

I don't care what material you use, but referring to OSB as plywood in inaccurate, Nice job though.
Steve, why not an acrylic tank. They are far more superior.

@@StevePolandAquatics acrylic do not scratch that easy unless you purposely do it. Even if you scratch once you add water you won't really notice it and lastly you can buff out the scratches. I have 3 acrylics tank. Clear for life, fish tank direct and tenecor. No scratches in any of them except on the bottom where I put hardscape like rocks and sand.
