@@BoomerBenefits I just worked with Lauren Boling of your office to sign up for my Plan N supplement starting when I turn 65 in April 2024. I had originally spoken to her in July of this year and I told her that I wanted to sign up as soon as I could and Lauren called me on October 2nd! Already approved and April's premium payment is done. Just need the Part D plan which we'll be taking care of in January. Please be sure that Lauren gets an extra donut for her great follow up skills!!! 😀

I am 67 and only on Part A. I’m on my wife’s insurance which is a qualified plan. When she retires in a couple of years; will I be required to under go underwriting for a Supplement Plan since I didn’t take Part B at 65? If not, what are the time constraints to sign up for Part B and a Supplement Plan without having to qualify for underwriting when enrolling when my wife retires at 65 and I’ll be roughly 69.

Hi there - As long as you are covered by insurance based on active employment from a large employer (over 20 employees) you can delay until you are ready to start Medicare.

I have a question. My 85 year old mother has Humana Gold Plus Plan, a Medicare Advantage plan. I was considering switching her to Original Medicare as I thought that might be better, but I am truly torn as one person says Original Medicare is better and others say Humana is better. I don't want to mess up anything for her, can anyone tell me what the best thing to do would be? We think she has dementia, but her PCP acts like he thinks she does not but I get the opinion that he just doesn't want to refer to a specialist. She can't get diagnosed with an MRI as she had a pacemaker that apparently is not suitable for MRIs making it too dangerous to do for her. We are at a loss as to what to do. What I do not like about the Humana plan is you have to get a referral for a specialist when with Original Medicare you do not have to.

@bikerleathertv - i would recommend you give us a call and we can shop for a new Medicare Advantage plan for her. It doesnt sound like she can pass underwriting, but she can possibly get a new Medicare Advantage plan that does not require referrals. You can reach us at 817-249-8600.

Part D premium, deductible, copays and increase in supplemental plan premium will EXCEED my COLA (cost of living) increase. That leaves me without an extra dime for gasoline, groceries, utility and rent increases. It’s disheartening.

See if you can get a part-time phone customer service job. It won't have benefits, but you can make your hours as you wish, and lots of these kinds of jobs are available. I'm 76, and was recently offered a very good job, with part time options.

Actually no, that will make things far worse. There would be far less options for doctors for those of us who have paid into Medicare all our lives and then to have those who have paid little or nothing in to take what few doctors there are. No thanks!

It always runs out of money, and ignores basic economics. In England, with "free" HC, they don't even offer hospital beds to seniors. They're are put on a gurney, and rolled into the hallway to die.
