USA a lot of us more rural people are switching to wood heat. Propane, and other options, are just too expensive. The wood stove we're getting requires no power.

@@canoesino9290 Perfect all the time! They live so much better than so many people of the west, they should be happy about this (besides the war of course) You live so much better than a lot of people in the west in particular if one considers how many people in the West do not live on their own ground and in the own house. Or if they have this, they have still a lot of morgage to pay for the coming decades with increasing interest - and heating with wood is also expensive in the west, because the wood does not come from the local forest nearby most of the time, but is traded and needs to be bought on ever increasing prices.

Thanks for showing us how the wood boiler works and how much wood you have on hand. How often will you need to go into the forest to chop more wood? Also, do you have a fireplace in the house, in case you can't run the pump later in the winter? I think your house in the country will be more comfortable than your city apartment if power plants keep getting destroyed. It's wonderful that you have options.

I've been preparing for a cold winter too. I have been watching a lot of KZread videos. I learned that a tent inside the house can help heat up sleeping area. I learned that if you have the clay pots from the garden and some bricks, you can build an inside stove and even cook on it if you make one outside too. I'm planning on doing both. I got some bricks last week. I ordered some tea candles for the clay pot heater. I'm getting the tent to go over my bed to warm it up. There is no end to the advice available. Best of luck to you. Pavlo, I’m sure many around you know to stay ahead on firewood splitting and stacking. If possible, get next winter’s wood split this Fall/Autumn as well. If not, make sure it is split and covered by the end of Spring 2023. Consider a sauna and bathe Finland style which needs no modern plumbing. Just need buckets of water to rinse with. Most of us in rural USA burn firewood with outdoor boiler stoves or indoor free standing wood-stoves. I read Applebaum’s book: Red Famine, Stalin’s war on Ukraine. Amazing the Ruskies are doing it again.

We have snow ❄️ now and will not see the ground again until May. Expecting a lot of it here in Alaska I see your wood 🪵 pile inside dry and a large amount of it hope it is enough for you. Your stove looks awesome and looks like you have hot water too. A lot of luxury’s most would consider necessities. A dry cabin no power no water is common here. Bring your own generator and heat walk to the river to get water Good luck this winter you have a hard enough job keeping your fires burning 🔥 I pray you don’t see any war but if you do may God protect you

Your dog Jack looks so adorable! Than goodness you have a wood boiler for the winter. With Russia threatening to cut Ukraine's gas and heating, I worry for the people in Ukraine and how they will survive the winter weather. Stay safe and well, Pavlo!

Good to see you may not get a cold a.. over winter. I do heating via gas and dont have any other options. Cross fingers we dont run shortage of gas and power. In order to independent I decided to modernize next you to an air heat exchanger as well a photovoltaic system on the roof. Stay safe, stay healthy. Greetings to the furnose Jack. Hope Jackson is well also. Slava Ukraine

Solution against the cold is to build an airtight roof over the actual house. That way the heat from the house will warm up the ambient temperature in the exterior "shell".
