USA a lot of us more rural people are switching to wood heat. Propane, and other options, are just too expensive. The wood stove we're getting requires no power.

@@canoesino9290 Perfect all the time! They live so much better than so many people of the west, they should be happy about this (besides the war of course) You live so much better than a lot of people in the west in particular if one considers how many people in the West do not live on their own ground and in the own house. Or if they have this, they have still a lot of morgage to pay for the coming decades with increasing interest - and heating with wood is also expensive in the west, because the wood does not come from the local forest nearby most of the time, but is traded and needs to be bought on ever increasing prices.
@yepiratesworkshop7997

@@JamesBrown-ux9ds I have tons of firewood just from the dead and fallen trees around my farm. Seems I hardly ever have to cut down a living tree for firewood.
Thanks for showing us how the wood boiler works and how much wood you have on hand. How often will you need to go into the forest to chop more wood? Also, do you have a fireplace in the house, in case you can't run the pump later in the winter? I think your house in the country will be more comfortable than your city apartment if power plants keep getting destroyed. It's wonderful that you have options.
Stay warm and safe, Pavlo and family. 💙💛

That's what you know the best - terrorizing and killing civilians, bombing whole cities. That's what you showed in Afganistan, in Chechnya, in Syria and today in Ukraine. I've been preparing for a cold winter too. I have been watching a lot of KZread videos. I learned that a tent inside the house can help heat up sleeping area. I learned that if you have the clay pots from the garden and some bricks, you can build an inside stove and even cook on it if you make one outside too. I'm planning on doing both. I got some bricks last week. I ordered some tea candles for the clay pot heater. I'm getting the tent to go over my bed to warm it up. There is no end to the advice available. Best of luck to you. Slava Ukraini!

I am sure many people are envious of your climate, but I must admit I don't get it. Summer all the time! No spring where everything blooms? No fall, where the leaves fall and lays beautiful on the ground? No winter storm where you feel the cold wind and you feel a little more alive? No snow covered fields? The change of the seasons is really great to me. But to each his own I guess.

Much like geothermal here in the United States. I would personally prefer a wood stove, as it would keep the house much warmer and be more direct and no loss of energy through the transfer pumping hot water through pipes all the way through the house.

Pavlo, I’m sure many around you know to stay ahead on firewood splitting and stacking. If possible, get next winter’s wood split this Fall/Autumn as well. If not, make sure it is split and covered by the end of Spring 2023. Consider a sauna and bathe Finland style which needs no modern plumbing. Just need buckets of water to rinse with. Most of us in rural USA burn firewood with outdoor boiler stoves or indoor free standing wood-stoves. I read Applebaum’s book: Red Famine, Stalin’s war on Ukraine. Amazing the Ruskies are doing it again.
praying you and your family have a safe and warm winter

Thank you for sharing. Some people still use wood and coal here to heat in the winter. The coal is used like your wood burner in some ways. We still have pot bellied stoves in some areas to heat the house.
Amazing , instant of grid living , Many just panic when their instant modern devices and way of easy living is removed . It does get as cold here in Scotland though , good luck for the future .
We are glad that you can pick wood.
Pavlo, you and your family look well prepared. Please stay safe and i wish you and family a warm peaceful winter. 💛💙 Slava Ukraine!
It really pained me so much regarding the hardships of the Ukrainian people experienced with this unprovoked war. I keep on thinking of the orphaned children and the vulnerabilities of the elderlies this coming winter. I have donated to a UN agency responding the needs of the displaced people of Ukraine. It maybe not much but it is my way of responding to the welfare of those vulnerable. I keep on praying for Ukraine. I'm from the Philippines. 🇵🇭❤🇺🇦
I pray that the war will be over soon and that your country can get started with rebuilding. I know that it will be a long hard task and things will never be the same. Stay safe....

Your stove looks awesome and looks like you have hot water too. A lot of luxury’s most would consider necessities. A dry cabin no power no water is common here. Bring your own generator and heat walk to the river to get water Good luck this winter you have a hard enough job keeping your fires burning 🔥 I pray you don’t see any war but if you do may God protect you

Solution against the cold is to build an airtight roof over the actual house. That way the heat from the house will warm up the ambient temperature in the exterior "shell".
