Preparing For Insulation Boards

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

In this video I clean up the window bay after using expanding foam to fill gaps which had been open to the elements since the house was built in the 1930s. I then prepare the wood framing to be able to accept the new insulation boards.

Hi, Yes, when the rest of the insulation, base board and windowsill went on the sound of the busy A34 has been reduced considerably. Previously to me doing the alterations to this bay window there was gaps through from the room to the outside so it was almost like having a small window open all the time.

I'm prepping to do this myself to my 1930s reno. Mine is just pebble dash render with a black sheeting on the inside with battens on top. Should I be leaving a ventilation gap between the outer bay? It seemed like you stuffed your bay fully with insulation
