Every month my Patreons suggest a new piece for me to play and record! The BWV 999 Prelude by Johann Sebastian Bach was the choice for February - such a wonderful favourite in our repertoire, a pleasure to work on for past few weeks.
It is quite interesting to see the vast range of interpretations for this prelude. The differences in tempo and phrasing is extremely contrasting. For my direction I am aiming for connection and flow in my musicality, let me know what you think!

Ms. Jones, watching this reminded me of playing this years ago and made me go back and re-explore it. I also found a video of Eliot Fisk going over it and giving practice tips. Interesting piece.

Fabulous! I played this well some years ago. You've inspired me to relearn it, now with recovered health after 5 separate surgeries in two years. A new guitar lift to relieve back pressure as well. I don't know much about classical music but to me, this performance was awesome, so fluent. 👏👏👏👏👏
I always like the odd random micro-second's delay or hesitation before the bass string is plucked otherwise the piece can rapidly lose its grip and head into mechanical territory

I learned this when I was about 15. I say 'learned', meaning I knew what the notes were I should be playing. Interesting how many orders of magnitude better Stephanie's performance is!

In this tempo, the little rhythm gaps like the pinky barré on th 5th fret with F in the bass are, only in my humble opinion of course, disturbing the flow you mentioned, a bit too much. Your technique and dynamics on the other hand are exquisite as always. Looking forward for everything you'll be presenting us and thank you for doing so ;)
