Welcome... to the Prehistoric Aquarium! This week, we start our most self indulgent project yet. The Prehistoric Nature mod completely transforms the world of Minecraft, adding the ability to travel back in time to the Palaeozoic and encounter 100s of extinct plants and animals. So, over the next few weeks, we'll be building a massive aquarium to house some very obscure ancient creatures.

Fun fact: I recorded this as a one off video, but fell so in love with the mod it turned into a full mini series! So I don't drown out my lovely co-hosts, new episodes of the Prehistoric Aquarium will be released every Saturday in addition to regular videos!

Really nice video and thank you for using that mod! 6:14 Hmm sorry but Aphetoceras is early nautiloid from Ordovician, that is not heteromorph ammonite.

This is awesome! I haven't played Minecraft in many years but just seeing the thumbnail made me geek out so much I had to reinstall it lol
As a massive fan of Prehistoric Park i absolutely love this idea and this video! You just got yourself a new subscriber! Also, one thing i might suggest is getting a mod called Future MC, it adds most of the blocks and items from newer versions of Minecraft to the one you're playing in the video, since you complained that you cannot use some of the newer additions this might be something to look into

Something of note if you do another series, there is a 1.12.2 mod that backports a lot of content from later versions. Its called Future MC.

They should make a bedrock adaptation for this mod
This looks interesting. There is another paleontology mod I would love to see you guys check out. I will have to find a link to it to leave here when I can get back to my computer. It is also a non dinosaur mod, though I don't think it adds the world's of the time period, but it is still super cool with a lot of fauna from various time periods.

Good news: a 1.18 version is being worked on! Bad news: it probably won’t be out until the rest of the mod is finished.

Was Promissium possibly related to the modern day Sea Lamprey? They look strangely similar…

They are both jawless fish, but lampreys are Cyclostomi, but Promissum is a conodont.
