Pregnant Teen Is Held Hostage And Slain By Extremely Violent Ex - The Story Of Danielle DiMedici

In September of 1996, Danielle DiMedici lost her life at the hands of a true monster. Someone with a strong and violent obsession with her. Danielle was vibrant, caring, intelligent, wanted to be a model, and had her entire life ahead of her. Everything was taken from her, all because this person decided if she wasn't going to be with him she wasn't going to be with anyone. Certain things written about Danielle make it seem as if she lived a life where this was expected. This is NOT true. She, like many of us, was just a teen finding her way and going through the ups and downs that make or break us in this life. Danielle was strong and loving and would have thrived. She would have been an amazing mother to her unborn daughter, Athena, because from what I was told, family meant everything to Danielle. She is very missed by MANY who still mourn her today. Let us remember Danielle for who she TRULY was, who she wanted to be and not for the fabrications that were printed. Let us remember what she went through, because she should still be here today. She tried to escape this mans clutches. Her friends and family all tried to help and do what they could. 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗶𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗗𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲'𝘀 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝟮𝟰 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲, 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗰𝘂𝘁, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱𝗻'𝘁 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝘁𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗮 𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝘀𝘁. Today's video isn't to re-open old wounds, but to raise awareness to the dangers of a an ab*sive relationship. Many young women are experiencing this today. I often receive emails and messages from those currently going through this. Her story and memory should never be forgotten. Thank you to Danielle's loved ones whom I spoke to back when I first covered this story. My heart and condolences go out to all of her family and loved ones. May she always Rest In Peace.

She was a kid, her brain wasn't done growing, she got manipulated by a grown man with his own child, and the police had the nerve to blame her. She was a teenager; some teenagers are reckless and think they know everything (I thought I did when I was a teenager) and think they'll live forever, that they're invincible and that the person they're dating then will be with them forever. Danielle didn't truly know nor live life as an adult; she may have been stubborn, but what kid isn't? And she was pregnant, that too changes the mind and body, it must be emotional hell for a growing teenager. If she was an adult, would they have blamed her for that monster threatening, abusing, and stalked her and her entire family? That man needed to be locked up, needed to be seen by mental health professionals, he needed something other than to be allowed on the streets. Where was his family? He had a brother, right, that paid his bail? Did he not talk some sense into him? It's too bad he didn't just take himself out. My heart goes out to her entire family, having to witness and suffer that monster's hours of torture. I hope they're all living happily and healthily and can remember the Danielle without thinking of the man who terrorized and traumatized them all. And to his own child as well, I can't imagine knowing and growing up with that image of your father.

Well said. She was a child, and the system failed her, and then had the nerve to shame her; and victim blame, instead of taking accountability. Shame on them. How dare they tarnish the precious memory of their dear daughter. My heart goes out to them, and my prayers. My heart goes out to this monster's mother and family, he wasn't right in the head and needed help early on. He needed to seek that help, instead of blaming all his problems on the world. It would be so hard to live with knowing your child turned into this. I don't think I could live with it. So, my prayers to his family as well. I don't know his story. Stories like this, show you the devil is real, and he can steal your mind away from you, if given enough rage and hate, he loves those emotions. And he will move into his brand-new home, your mind. Choose love and forgiveness. Choose Jesus who is the only one that can heal broken hearts and mend the unmendable.

When will LE finally realize "orders of protection" do NOT work, and send these people to jail without bond, and when found guilty, they can rot in prison until their last breath is taken?!!? There's never just one victim. Stop blaming the victim. Stop letting abusers have more basic human rights than the victims.

  • @Codi892

Due process and a right to a fair trial is why they can't do what you suggest. Americans have to realize that the justice system is reactive not proactive. It can only go into action when the law has been broken. Which is why order of protections exist. Also order of protections benefits the victims who kill their abuser in self defense. I can guarantee you in the majority of American prisons are a few people serving time for killing their abuser all because they didn't have a paper trail to document abuse.

Two of the biggest problems with protection orders are: people who use the court system as a way to control or get back at a significant other and 2) people who go back to their abusers, drop charges, etc. Yes most do it out of fear but it still impacts how serious these orders are enforced. Going back does not stop the abuse nor save anyone. It literally makes things worse.

They wouldn't like it if it happened to a family member of theirs and they are desperate. There was a town in Skidmore Oklahoma that had a town bully, similar to this guy.He was shot and killed, and to this day no one knows who the killer was. There are those who believe one of the towns folk just got fed up and did the job, or they pooled money to hire a hitman.Nevet did catch the shooter.

It’s easy to say just leave but never easy to actually leave. I grew up thinking why women didn’t just leave, grow a “backbone” but I’ve learned of so many stories of violent/deadly retaliations it’s so common. The police only do something after something happens. I can’t imagine how helpless that must feel

My mom was in abusive relationship with my POS father and the police were sick of her calling to get him away from her. They told her to get a restraining order and she straight up said, "And what do I do with it? Throw the paper at him?" She said the only reason she didn't kill him was because she had me and my sister and knew she'd go to prison. So many times she would tell the police that they are supposed to, as their cars say, "Protect and serve" people like her whenever they need it. We live in California and she said that after Nicole Brown was murdered the police seemed to take domestic situations a lot more serious. Can't say her death did much anywhere else if Danielle and many other women didn't make it through their terror.

Survivor of an abusive relationship. You're correct- it is difficult to leave. Your abuser can alienate you- you lose friends and family then feel you have no where to go. And sadly so many victims are just dismissed. Police told me when I was in the emergency room after getting beaten, choked and thrown around a room where I landed on a coffee table and thought my hip was broken that it was not a good idea to press charges. They thought it would do more harm than good and my abuser would retaliate and possibly killl me. What kind of advice is that? Why not arrest him after they saw how battered I was? It does make you feel helpless. We need more support for victims and less tolerance for abusers. Only then will we be able to make changes. I hope this young woman's family has found some peace❤

He is so made to tell the stories for these victims . He gives them back their voice that we can no longer hear . He is intelligent, wise beyond his years ,empathetic , compassionate , fair , and most of all a damn good and decent man . A true earth angel . Sent by the Good Lord ❤ to do this very thing . And in doing so I truly believe he brings some healing to the families. And any comfort given to families that are filled from the bottom of their souls with the heavy burden of extremely painful grief every second of the day , has to feel a little bit of relief. When this man finishes a story I truly feel a familiar sense of who the person was . Like they are someone that could have been in my friend or family circle . And I always pray to God and thank Him that they weren't . I always finish my prayer asking for comfort for their loved ones . All the years of watching true crime telecasts never gave me that sense of knowing who that person was like this man . He is gifted for being a voice for those who can not speak for themselves any longer.

Females need to take it more seriously! When someone shows u who they are, you'd be stupid not to believe them! When this guy who's been so great for the past 6 months or a year suddenly slaps you, or pushes you, or starts obsessing over ur every move and/or interaction with other people, or trying to control what moves or interactions u can make, that's it, you cut your losses & move on. Be glad they showed u now instead of even later & take whatever lesson u can from the experience. It's not a one off thing, it's not stress, and most importantly- you can't change him! Those actions aren't him suddenly acting different & not being himself... it's him finally showing his true colors. People are usually on the best behavior in a fresh relationship & as time goes on they start to drop the act once they're feeling comfortable & confident that they've got u on the hook. That's why it so often happens after the 1st "I love you"! All of this def applies with the genders reversed as well. I just stated it this way because it's more common

Wow. That’s horrific. I have very little faith in Brooklyn PD tho. So sadly, I can’t say I’m shocked. One night, I broke down right off the Verrazano bridge at a small rest stop off the belt parkway. I called the police and they were sending somebody to come help. Two hours later I was still there and no one ever came. I literally relied on the help of a stranger or else I don’t know what I would have done. RIP Danielle 🙏🏻 did the rest of the victims survive by the way? Edit: I DO have much respect for LE in general & also NYPD. I’m from the area but was very disappointed by the police dept in Brooklyn. That’s all. My son goes to college in SI, so I still love NYC.

Since when do the cops come help you when your car breaks down at a rest stop? That sounds like a job for a tow truck, a repair shop, a taxi cab, maybe a friend/family, etc. How could you lose faith in the cops for not doing something that's not even their job? The only flaw I see on their part is that they told u they'd come out & then didn't show up, when they should've just told u no to begin with! I imagine the dispatcher tried to send a car & the cop said, "ummm no!". Either that or ur call was the lowest priority so it took forever 🤷🏻‍♀️

Wow. I can't imagine the trauma of the survivors. It's so crazy to me how we can see all the ugly signs of who a person is, but STILL manage to convince ourselves that we will somehow be immune from it. I've seen plenty of DV in my family since I was a kid. It was so common in fact that we had incorporated it into our play. We didn't just play 'house' or 'school', we played 'bar', 'affair' and 'family fights'. It almost sounds like some SNL skits. And honestly, I laughed about it when I was in my teens. It wasn't until years later that I thought about all that again and I finally begin to realize how broken my family was - still is to be honest. All I can say is that NO ONE has the right to abuse you just because they are stronger than you or because they think they own you. You deserve better, and so do your children. PLEASE GET OUT right away or you may not have that opportunity. And thank you sir for your gentle and respectful approach in covering these sensitive cases. Much appreciated

Thank you so much for sharing this story. It's so many layers here to peel back. I would like to know how Parker knew that she was in Florida. Too many times people run their mouth and cause women harm when they are trying to escape a violent situation. I hope that decision haunts who ever told that information every day. Instead of the police blaming her and saying she was uncooperative, they should have just told the truth which was they no longer wanted to or could not spend the money on having 24 hour surveillance at her apartment. Was it offered to help her move? Change her name? Again, so many layers. When the relationship started the family should have called the police. She was a minor. This is truly a sad case. She should still be here with her baby girl. Rest easy Danielle and Athena!!

I know how hard it is to muster the strength to even try to leave a monster. The psychological damage makes you doubt every choice you make every moment of every day. In my situation, it was mainly verbal but it really messed with my head. I'd like to extend my deepest condolences to Danielle's family. I hope that all who were present that day and had to witness this are doing ok, as close to ok as you can be after this kind of trauma, especially those little kids. Danielle was a beautiful girl, so sad to see such a bright light snuffed out like that. Not to mention sweet Athena who no one even got to meet. And it could have been prevented if the damn judge had set a more appropriate (exponentially higher) bond, or if NYPD had had the manpower to keep eyes on her long enough to stop this psycho piece of garbage from getting to her.

Some people are like mosquitos to a zapper. I wouldn't be surprised how he found out where she relocated either. That guy isn't Jason Bourne; he didn't even finish school. Just a lot of mistakes were made that could have been preventable. But you can't change the past only your future. But some people aren't ready for change like they wish they were. She definitely was a kid and totally used it against her.
