Wow so much info to keep straight, do you have someone writing it all down for you?

I don't understand how it works with twins. Do both survive to birth? Do the shots you give to stimulate ovulation and cause the dual conception? What do you do with all the foals? What breed are your horses? Is this a profitable business to get into? You have a huge operation. It must keep you busy, busy, busy. It seems very sad when a mare loses her foal. We had rescue mares deliver a still born, likely because she was in such poor body condition. Two mares that we acquired were pregnant by the same stallion unknown to the previous owner. They were a beautiful surprise. Chestnut filly out of a black mare, chestnut colt out of a paint mare. We never intended to raise foals. But when the gifts are dropped at your doorstep you gladly take them. We are finally down the paint mare and her adult gelding. Too old to care for a herd anymore. But they were beautiful to watch grow. God bless you for your caring heart.

I suppose the courtship plays a huge role too? But, I mean in the wild they work out or we would never have horses right??

I know this an old comment but the horses she breeds to are all over the country. It’s easier and cheaper just to get it done this way rather than driving horses all over the place. Plus there’s no guarantee that the horses will get along if they were to meet. Also wild horses are procreating to keep the species going. Katie is breeding these horses for them to work and creating more/stronger bloodlines for future working horses.
