I think bass #1 is the Squier and bass #2 is the Fender. They both sound great, but to my ears bass #2 had deeper low end and more detailed mids when the tone control was at 100%. I guess I'll find out if I was right or not.
Bass 1 is the blue one bass 2 is the green one
Love that color on the Squier. That looks sharp.
#2 is where it's at!!!
Feels like 1 is squier and 2 is fender based on a tiny bit of buzz I heard. 2 is a bit fuller and louder, but that's without headphones. Either way, I'm kicking myself for not getting that lime green sonic P that same night during the hang. Fantastic deal.
I'm going with Fender as no 1 and Squier as no 2 just because there seemed to be more usable range with the tone control as heard through computer speakers 🙂
Hello What strings Did You use?
I prefer just a bit the second one no matter which is which.
I'm thinking the Squier was #2, both are good but it had more top end, and I usually think of ceramic pickups as having that upper register.
Bass #1 is the Squier Sonic P, the treble is a bit sharper. Bass #2 is the AV II, the tone is warmer and the treble is a bit more rounded. Both sound good, it's in what tone you are after. Myself, I favor a more vintage tone with a warmer voicing and rounded highs. It doesn't mean I don't like the ceramic, it's just my taste leans more to the Alnico.

Ceramic top end (hoping I'm right) agreed on number one

I was right!
Dang man hell uhruh I'm going to guess 2 is the fender soley because your vibrato on some of the notes suggested 2 had more sustain so you had more time to wobble the note, and I assume the Fender weighs a little more than the thinner bodied Squier, but damn, the low end of bass1 with the tone closed.. hell I don't know
I can't find the vid that tells the outcome LOL
I like 2!
Fender was the 2nd one played. I felt more precision in the notes in both the 100 and 0 Tone settings.
Sounds like Bass 2 is the Squier based on intonation.
I prefer #2 1 seems to be clipping with the tone down....
The bassline sounds like Come Back in One Piece by Aaliyah.
Bass 2 's sound is richer a bit more complex and true to vintage sound with tone down. So I think number two is the expensive one.
TOO close a call for tonal difference to me (even if I am using headphones) but my money's worth shall still be the Squier Sonic P Bass (Maple board, 2-tone sunburst - PERIOD)
bass one is the squier, fender is 2nd. nothing bad about either of them.
Number 2 had a better over all tone at 0 and 100%. So I’m assuming that’s the American Ultra. If it was the Squire Sonic I’m going to get one!
Bass 1: Fender AVRI II Precision - sounds very even across the board Bass 2: Squier Sonic Precision - sounds a bit boosted, bit more gainy which is probably the ceramic pickup talking I'll be quite upset if I'm wrong.

I forgot the Squier has a ceramic pickup, that would account for the difference in mid range I’m hearing. I’m going to stick with my answer but I would not be surprised to find you are right.
I bought a Squier fretless jazz. The neck had a twist mid-neck. I returned it, just to receive another with the same issue. Their low end line is crap

I heard bad things about Squier too. Got the lime green p-bass a few days ago and although I expected nothing at all in terms of anything I was surprised about the build quality. I think it's a steal for the price. No real need for upgrades or mods and just good out of the box. Guess I was lucky.
Bass 1 Fender Bass 2 Squier Thanks for the video, i hope i'm right...
Fender is bass 1, per my iPhone speaker😅
I’m trying to talk myself out of buying the Squier as I have too many basses already but this hasn’t helped… Definitely think 1 is Fender 2 is Squier… Can still see something green incoming

Thanks, that would have been my guess. Can you do a comparison between the American Vintage 2 and American Pro 2 please?

The second one’s sub range of frequencies was more consistent. You can especially tell with the tone rolled off. I’d choose the fender all day, although I’m not convinced the squier wouldn’t sound just as good with new pickups, plus maybe a bone nut and harder/heavier bridge.
