Such houses are being constructed world wide. Long back one of my relative working in qater has informed me about such constructions. He is working as engineer in one of the companies there. As per his statement these houses are cheaper than conventional type of houses and are durable, as it involves cement and steel .

Brother this is pre cast construction system, it is more expensive than traditional construction, yes structure wise it is quicker, but finishes will take same time, also more expertise and force required to install the members, this system is feasible for massive construction,

Can these type of homes sustain the changing environmental conditions like heavy rains, heat waves etc.

Traditional housing structures could not hold against super floods, so how would those prefab with just a nuts & bolts fixated foundation or even a regular foundation with prefab like this one hold up against floods? Once they are uprooted, the steel structural debris coupled with thick soil and junk waste would flow down stream and destroy almost everything in its way. So civil engineers should come up with climate resilient area- specific solutions for flood victims as tents have many privacy/sanitation/security issues regardless of fact that for quick accomodation of affectees, the 3 lakh tents by the government were procured at a very high price i.e PKR 34,000 a piece! It's hard to drain out such large volumes of water, they should start digging properly planned wells ( but away from the crop fields) to accelerate the process of water settling down in the aquifers! Keep in mind that most of the flood affectees have lost their source of livelihood/income as well, so including them with various labour jobs in the process of rehabilitation/construction/planning/digging/transportation will provide some income support while reducing otherwise overall costs. Onsite factories will also save costs! Actually National Flood response Centre in consultation with PC, NDMA, Army should come up with a Master Rehabilitation Plan with various area specific sub-plans after proper surveys. And Allah knows best
