Pre-Reformation Liturgy Abridged and Explained

Фильм және анимация

The Use of Sarum, sometimes known as the Sarum Rite or Use of Salisbury, is the ancient liturgy of the English People. It was codified by Saint Osmund, Bishop of Salisbury and Robert Poore during the period of the Norman Conquest and reflects both pre-existing Anglo-Saxon, as well as several imported Norman liturgical customs.
The Use of Sarum became the preeminent liturgical expression in England, Wales, Ireland and later Scotland, until it was suppressed in 1559 under Elizabeth I.
It is notably one of the formative influences on the Book of Common Prayer used in the Anglican Church.
Divers Other Monks talks through the rituals and customs of the Sarum Use.
