Now we need an experiment on how dark you can go on the polish before it won’t cure.

This is how I do ALL my gel-x sets and they come out amazing.

I have been doing my nails this way for 2 and a half years now. It’s definitely a life saver

How dark can u go before it can't cure?

You can paint your GEL X nails dark. If you're going to do em as press on nails with regular glue for nails

I have used black gel on mine before and adhered using a small bead of acrylic they lasted 3 weeks with no lifting x

Black, or any colors will cure. You just have to size up & make sure you cure a lot. This is an easy way to do nails. I love it. Good video to do, but, for all newbies they can put anything on press on's & it will cure. Enjoy your videos.💜

Question , I use regular polish, would it work for regular black polish,like if I polish them black first then cure it on with gel?

@@ArianaYelena If you put a gel base coat first, cure it, then the regular polish & let that air dry, & then gel top coat & cure it should work. I don't always have to size up. It's really about how fast you want to put the nails on. I don't put mine on the same day. I think that was what Brandi was doing. Trying to make it easier for us who want to get the nails on ASAP without having to wait. I was just upset when she said you can't use dark colors. But, on reflection I understand where she was coming from. Try the regular polish on 1 nail & see. I hope I made some sense 😂

@@KimLarae366 Use 1 size larger if you're going to be putting a lot of gels & curing a lot. A lot of nails shrink.

if you use a small amount of acrylic to attach the nail extension you can paint them any color you want. I use acrylic because gel shrinks and tends to cause my natural nail to detach slightly after curing causing pain. just be careful not to flood the cuticle because you can't file. after the nails are on I also recommend using acrylic or gel over the top of the entire nail to build up proper apex and add strength. gel encapsulation does provide a crystal clear finish but the nail will still shrink slightly but I've never had any lifting between sets.

I love the way those nails are set up with the sizes and measurements! Thats amazing! I will def have ti make use of your code and get those!

I have a gel allergy but plenty of nails and gel polish. I have been doing mine as glue on nails...do all my paints and decorations then glue them on and they last 2+ weeks

Omg this makes my heart SO HAPPY. I recently developed an allergy too and I was crying because I have so many nails and polishes! I just bought my stand so I can prep the nails and got a regular glue to apply them. So happy to hear it works for you ❤

Anytime I have pre-painted my nail tips they always shrink. I now go up a size this way they fit after putting them in UV LED lamp. Maybe it's different for everyone, but for my fingers I just seem to have to size up .

Mine shrink too lol I think it only happens if you use abs nails instead of soft gel nails

@@corackadile I am using soft gel nails, and have only ever used soft gel nails. They literally shrink down one size sometimes more then that. I no longer pre-paint. Trust me I have tried everything.

@@julielyons9180 oh i am not doubting that lol i have the same issue as well. i just tried testing some of mine yesterday. i found that pre curing them before putting any product on them seems to prevent the nail from shrinking so much after product is applied. actually i didnt notice much of a difference at all. im still in the process of testing multiple kinds

This is definitely a great idea. The nails look so interesting. I just did my nails this way with a palm tree, ombré summer theme. Love them!

Definitely been doing this hack more than putting them on my nails 💅🏿 due to allergies of gel and acrylic products…. Plus I like the hack because you can reuse the nails if you take them off properly. Great designs brandy… and where did you get that bedazzled stand? It’s cyuttttte

You can definitely use builder gel to paint on your design! 🤗

Have you tried the hack of doing solid gel or polygel with full cover tips and then after curing them popping the full cover tips off..... I've seen it done once and I'm so nervous to try it..... I may try it this weekend and see if it works..... I have dual forms but polygel is so dang sticky I get frustrated with trying to use them and shape the nail with them..... I've not gotten any solid gel yet to try....

How long do they last?

Don't you need to file the tip before painting? Also did you add a base coat before doing th french tip

Hey! I recommend buffing the surface of the nails before starting your design that way the tip is etched and it will help so the polish does not chip!

I like to use a DIY peel off base coat- I rub cuticle oil into my nails, then apply a top coat and cure! 🩷

I just spent ages preparing nails for my holiday and then had a brain fat, searched it and found this. I’m hoping it’ll work, but realistically it won’t 😢
