Welp Sims 5 is coming so get ready. Neither be disappointing again or life changing. But yeah I think EA will bring back open world and insane customization from 3, then add fan requested features. I don't think performance is an issue now since tech has gone up over time like 6 years. So who knows, sims 5 could come on top.

I think the update to the create a sim was amazing, and the build mode and walk mapping changes were also very good, but the rest I agree with you on. I went back to sims 3 and the only thing I miss is how sims looked much better and more diverse.

It is here they dwell, gulping the foeted slime of the bog. Drinking it down and distending their fat, sore gut with the vile black oil, harvesting chins off of the weakness of whale gamers until the sludge seeps from the holes of their body from the pressure building up within them. They have only our contempt and disgust. But in banishment to this space, they are contented. There is no justice here.

As much as I still enjoy Sims 2 for its nostalgic factor, the open world, traits system, and customization are what drew me to 3. I've been playing since 2009 and I swear, it never gets old, because with so many options, the replay value is pretty much infinite. And I don't even have all the expansions -- although I'll be catching up on them, now that prices are coming down. Sims 4 looks nice and all, but with all the work and expansions I've put into my 3 game, switching to 4 would feel like a downgrade right now, so I'm sticking to Sims 3 for a few more years yet. It's a good game that can keep you hooked for over five years!

Installed this bad boy again. So much fun. No game like it. Amazing how all of the NPCs have the same needs as you. Also cool how they're not just essentially props (like in most games). They actually go home and sleep. I love hanging out at the gym/wellness center, and seeing the other AI actually interact with everything that you use (fridge, chairs, swimming pool, workout machines, etc.). Too bad that The Sims 4 wasn't open world.

My two favourite features in TS3 were the open world concept and total customisation. So that's what broke TS4 for me- it took away the features that revolutionised The Sims. Really, it's like they got lazy and dumbed down the game. If you've never played TS3 before you're probably gonna be like, "OMG THIS IS AWESOME" but if you have, you'll just feel like it's too small of a canvas, too tight of a world, and too unjustifiable of a price.

raras889 First off, sims 4 isn't even finished. Second of all, that's recreating sims 3. Every sims game is supposed to be different in some way. You can get graphics cards and cartridges to have better graphics and even download some sims 4 mods for your game. There are many different ways to make it better. EA is adding cats and dogs soon and I'm pretty sure seasons.

@@insearchofthemoon Umm no, Each sims game supposed to innovate. Sims 1 is the foundation. Sims 2 gave us 3d. Sims 3 gave us 3d world. And Sims 4 gave us 2d maps to look at 😑. Not hating on Sims 4, I love it's deeper gameplay aspect but I'm not getting over the fact that they remove features instead of building on top of it.

Marija Muhina have you ever made a game? I don’t think think you understand how long of a process it is to make one, and the difference in time it took doesn’t make a difference.

After logging over 1500 hrs in TS4, and having played both TS1 and TS2 since I was 11 y/o, I'm FINALLY getting around to playing TS3 and... my god. What a gem. I can't believe I totally skipped over it. Compared to TS4's complete lack of soul, this is such a breath of fresh air. Admittedly, TS4 has superior building mechanics. But as far as live mode is concerned? TS3 really takes the cake. I vote for a resurgence of this game to show EA where they can stick it.

2023 who's still watching LGR the sims 3 review?

Watching this after ten years and I have to say I still love this game. The open world was great, the create a style feature was awesome, the RPG elements in this game were good addition. Compare this with Sims 4, which not only removed the open world and create a style, but also upped the RPG elements to a quests-of-a-sort especially on things like dates, or parties or the Seasons EP holidays, where you are clearly told what you have to do to be successful and the game doesn't even feel like a sandbox strategy simulation of life anymore. They also added for a silliness in Sims 4. Don't get me wrong, The Sims games always had their share of silliness and most of the time, I liked that. But in Sims 4, they overdid it and the game is way too silly for my liking. And don't get me start with toddlers that aren't even toddlers anymore. Overall, Sims 3 was and still is the best of The Sims series in my opinion. Sims 2 had its good features too, some of which I miss to these days (like the most realistic toddlers, or the penguins in Seasons EP) and I still like to play it from time to time. Sims 1 was first and as such, there's a nostalgic feeling to it and nothing before to compete with. It surely set the path for next generations and we always should be tankful for that. However, The Sims 4 was the first big disappointment to the series for me to the point where I decided not to support it anymore and that's sad for me a devoted Sims player since 2000.

I have all the Sims 3 expansion packs and let me just say IT'S SO FREAKING ADDICTING!!!! There's so much to do! I was playing with the Alto family and I discovered that Sims can go on FIELD TRIPS!!! The mother and father won a free two day vacation and the teenager was by herself (except the butler). She got to throw a teenage party! When Leisure Day came, I threw a pool party! That dad was grilling hot dogs, the guests were swimming! When it was night, my Sims started dancing to the Island Life radio station and some of the teenage Sims that were guests started doing their homework at the party! 😂 It was the most fun I've had playing a Sims game!

I have the Sim's 4 but I really want the Sim's 3 now. Plus it is only $20 and comes with Late Night and High End Lot Stuff( I thin its called that)

The sad thing about Sims 4 is that the more you turn the graphical settings up the more cartoony it looks. While on Sims 3 you could the settings all the way to the lowest and it would still look more realistic than 4.

Although I love Sims 3 over any other Sims game out their, Sims 4 going for a more cartoony look is better in the long run when it comes to graphics. Cartoony games don't age as bad visually as realistic, even though Sims 4 looks like an app game

I remember I played TS3 more than eight generations. I made my sims live in an open lot space, make it outdoor themed. Got everything colored pattern from couches to beds to even cars. And because it was open lot, I collected the graveyards of their ancestors. That was when I even only had the base game without any expansions. So much to do even with base only.

#teamsims3 I feel like I'm the only one that likes the sims 3 better than the sims 4.

the reason why the sims 4 is crap its because they removed the greatest feature that was in the sims 3,its open world.the sims 4 looks like an upgraded graphics mod for the sims 2 and the loading screens are sooo long if you have a crappy laptop or pc

I still remember getting excited over the announcement trailer and finally getting it as a gift a few months later.... Then I dropped the CD and somehow a perfectly straight crack formed over it, so we bought a new one (the Deluxe Edition which included Ambitions) in 2010 and thankfully it's still working to this day

Love all of your reviews when I have a bad day I seriously just go through all of your old videos and re-watch them. Listening to your thoughts and opinions is just very soothing to me.

I love the ability to just freely traverse the entire map, not just your sims lot. Also, the sims (one thru three) are fun to play and deal with stress in a positive way.

Man this has been my childhood, I played everday and this brings me far back

The Sims 3 is pretty much the best of the series... The Sims 2 was very flawed and improved upon, and The Sims 4 is just a stripped down game... with those features being sold as DLC.

I played The Sims 4 with a few of the best expansion and game packs installed, and even though I like the game I was getting bored with it. So I scrambled up the money to get The Sims 3 Starter Pack (includes the base game, High-End Loft Stuff, and Late Night) off of Origin and also The Sims 3 Generations. Although there were parts about The Sims 3 that I didn't like (longer loading screens, not that great graphics, not a lot of hairstyles or clothing to choose from, etc) it was definitely better overall (has the color wheel/create a style, has more traits and aspirations to choose from, a great soundtrack). But the best part is the gameplay. It felt so alive. Without me even making the Sims do anything, two of the girls were having a pillow fight, some of the guys were telling jokes to each other, a couple was cuddling on their bed, just stuff like that. It is such a great game

The difference between this base game and TS4 base game is so big it makes me want to cry

I was like, I forgot how great this is. I was watching and thinking, the sims 4 has none of these.

10 years has passed, and TS3 still hasn’t been surpassed.

The Sims 3 is so good that even the shitty console port is a lot of fun. I sunk endless hours into that godforsaken game. Now I'm getting a gaming PC, though, and one of my first games will be The Sims 3. So hyped.

Sims 3 will still be my favorite game out of the whole franchise. It's just so immersive.

I’m here in 2019 after removing sims four from my PC (AFTER HAVING PURCHASED THE COMPLETE COLLECTION) because it’s so freaking boring and I need added space on my device for downloading sims three.

The Sims 3 was epic advancement for The Sims, the open world was amazing and made the game so much more immersive. Then The Sims 4...the only better thing is the graphics...and still I don't think they're that AMAZING compared to TS3. I'm just way over TS4, it wouldn't bother me if they scrapped any future plans for it and focussed on The Sims 5, as I don't think there's anything that's going to put it on the same level as TS3.Now I'm just waiting for another Skylines/Planet Coaster style remake of the Sims....Or here's to hoping that EA really step up their game and absolutely nail The Sims 5...

Loading screens are fine I've played Sims 2. Not everyone can afford an expensive computer to run a game that demands so much

It's on sale right now on Steam for $2.99 USD (basically $3). This seems to be the only review video for it.

And yep, Sims 3 is addicting. Even with the bugs and lag, I’ve been addicted for the last 2 and a half months.

@@jeromealday614 Emotion in The Sims 4 is more like a mood swing, I'm sure they're read behaviorist work (aka stimulus-response principle) before implementing the emotion system. And more like showing different animation, rather than situatedness in which I can relate to my sims (for example the furious system in TS 2 Nightlife, and TS 3 negative moodlet from witnessing death of other sim, it's persist and can't be overcome simply by having high aspiration or mood meter, the sims itself would express his/her feeling accordingly at anytime and it's makes you want to give an aid, it can't simply ignored untill its wear off. Emotion, especially emotional aura ruining this experience for me, it jus not work) Multitasking? Nope. The Sims 3 already more managable than TS 2. My low end Toshiba laptop can handle it up to 3 expansion, tweaked with Nraass' mod to smoothing up and its fine. My friend mid end Asus can handle it without laging at all, at high graphic.

Sims 5 should be sims 4 graphics with sims 3 everything else lol.

the only things in the sims 4 that is good is the create a sim and build mode in my opinion

I have played the Sims since the first one was released, I love the series. Sims 3 is by far the best. You really just cannot beat the open world and customization. Sims 4 was a huge disappointment to me. Sure, it will get better in time 30-50 dollars at a time. Still can't replace open world.

I’ve just installed all the sims 3 expansion packs I hasn’t had yet (currently on steam for only $10 each, what a steal) but not the stuff packs. I’m excited!

i had put all of my sims 3 games on craigslist a couple months ago and no one has bought them yet. so after watching this video, i removed them from the website. i want to thank you for reminding me how amazing this game is. keep on doing your videos:)

Lol even though the sims 4 was out at the time I decided to buy the Sims 3 and 5 expansion packs rather than the Sims 4 and nothing else. I'm glad I did :)

Ive always wanted the sims 3! One day at gamestop I nabbed it with high end loft stuff and late night. Ive been hooked to that game ever since and god all the other expansion and stuff packs. This sims 3 is 1st place on my game awesomeness meter. :) I love the sims 3! I think if you are a roleplayer, BUY THIS GAME.

Im a Sims 4 person but I'm downloading Sim's 3 now

i'm getting the game today (the first saturday after the game was released) and i am so excited now that i've seen this video....this video rocks!!

I was hooked by, and modded the heck out of 1, 2 and 3. I still play 3, however I need to leave it for at least 15 minutes to load, even on my beast of a PC (16GB core i5, 2GB card)
