I'm trying to understand the backstory. On wiki John is listed as a founding member of deadlock, but his first episode was #12, as a replacement for Pulse, who was in Japan at the time. I haven't yet got to the part where they declare him an official member and was jumping around between podcasts.

Just for the record - Homicide tried to walk out after that meeting but after all that they refused to release him
I wish there was a 5 hour video that just covers all the insane and stupid gimmicks and business/booking decisions TNA made throughout history because it feels like every month I learn a new crazy ass thing about TNA lmao

One of the best parts of being a wrestling fan is explaining to a non-wrestling fan how stupid it is and how that's awesome.
This is a huge skeewoah moment if I’ve ever seen one
Dude this is such a fun trip down memory lane. LOLTNA wasn't just a meme, it was a real phenomenon and I'm so glad that other's share the same brain rot as me. I so deeply relate to that "in the trenches" part because that's what it felt like in the 00's for wrestling.

Yo!! How am I just noticing im (kinda) in this video! Fun fact: It was the original video for this that inspired me to start making TNA content in the first place and my channel wouldn't be where it is without it, shoutout to the deadlock boys. six sides for life
The precursor to Deadlock
They undersold how ridiculous Claire Lynch was. Kaz, Daniels, and Styles were all in 4tune, ric flairs stable, but when they split, AJ turned face. Daniels and Kaz were known as Bad Influence and leaked a photo and a phone call of Styles and Dixie. Now this is where shit gets complicated. AJ and Kurt Angle were tag Champs at some point during this. Dixie's husband came out and punched AJ. Styles and Dixie eventually brought out a random women who claimed to be a Pregnant recovering addict that Styles and Dixie were mutual friends with. Kaz and Daniels beat Angle and Styles for the belts at the next ppv and them in a post match promo revealed Styles was the father of Claire's baby. The Bound for Glory series was happening at this same time from this point on btw. Claire turned heel by telling AJ to "Do the right thing AJ, for out baby" the Bad Influence showed pictures of Styles being essentially date raped by Claire. Claire would glare at AJ from the seats and he would lose matches. Then after months of build, Claire quit because wrestling fans worked themselves into a shoot and found Claire's other acting jobs. Trolling her online relentlessly so she quit to protect her acting career. So then AJ challenges Daniels to a match where if he wins, he takes a paternity test. Now nothing had been stopping AJ from doing this. AJ would win and then bury Clair Lynch by calling her ugly. It's the ultimate example of TNA having an interesting idea, but blowing it, making it shit, and then wasting top talent

Least convoluted Russo storyline. Complete with his execution of it too.
I'm not even that negative on Mike Bennett but had a similar experience to Pulse. People I talked wrestling with were convinced he was hot shit and I even recalled the SAME TANAHASHI MATCH. I felt like I was on goofballs or something.
Also Jawnny and pulse better do a deadlock TNA retrospective where they just show denk and tony weird TNA stuff lmao
I love the reaction “You want me to watch this?” “You have to!”
this video belongs in B A S E D W O R L D 'cause YOU ALREADY KNOW
The very first episode that started it all; TNA Wrestling Retrospective. 😆 “Remember when Earl Hebner was sexually harassing Madison Rayne on TNA?” 🤣
Considering that I first started watching TNA in 2011 right before it changed to Impact Wrestling, I genuinely love this video so much coz it just reminds me of all the crazy shit that TNA did from like 2011-2014. On top of that, hearing two of my favourite wrestling KZreadrs make the comments that they make in this video just tops it off for me. Awesome sync for one of my favourite Pulse videos ever!
I need an episode of Deadlock with Chris. I can see him just being absolutely flabbergasted the whole time & James & Jawny are riffing the whole time. 😂
TNA at that time was somehow the dog worst and the best at the same time, you HAD to be there 😂

While on the subject of pre-Deadlock, there's a 30-minute video of jawnny's where he rants about the Hell in a Cell PPV where The Fiend gets ruined. Some nL fans called it his audition for Deadlock. You think it's sync material?

Sooo, because of TNA... Jawnny looked at Pulse and said, "We are gonna start a Podcast Pulse, we need Anthony, and maybe Chris... We About to Change Somethings...Fortune Four"
I have no doubt in my mind TNA chose Jay Bradley because he was from Chicago and could sell him as a CM Punk adjacent (besides Austin Aries).
Kevin Nash and Scott Hall with the most based money in the bank ever after SuperMex whipped Matt Morgan’s ass when he had both tag belts.

How crazy was TNA in this time I heard of Joker Sting Aces and Eights and the Kurt Anderson fued. 🤨

This single vid is better than the last 2 years of OSW. In fact, OSW is currently in the process of stealing Deadlock's thunder(TNA) because they aren't funny/entertaining anymore. (most of their videos are guest spots and fan art these days) @ me.

Tna really was the best of both worlds lol I feel bad for then watching that shit but TNA is still legendary for being one of the alternatives for WWE at the time.
