I'm trying to understand the backstory. On wiki John is listed as a founding member of deadlock, but his first episode was #12, as a replacement for Pulse, who was in Japan at the time. I haven't yet got to the part where they declare him an official member and was jumping around between podcasts.

They undersold how ridiculous Claire Lynch was. Kaz, Daniels, and Styles were all in 4tune, ric flairs stable, but when they split, AJ turned face. Daniels and Kaz were known as Bad Influence and leaked a photo and a phone call of Styles and Dixie. Now this is where shit gets complicated. AJ and Kurt Angle were tag Champs at some point during this. Dixie's husband came out and punched AJ. Styles and Dixie eventually brought out a random women who claimed to be a Pregnant recovering addict that Styles and Dixie were mutual friends with. Kaz and Daniels beat Angle and Styles for the belts at the next ppv and them in a post match promo revealed Styles was the father of Claire's baby. The Bound for Glory series was happening at this same time from this point on btw. Claire turned heel by telling AJ to "Do the right thing AJ, for out baby" the Bad Influence showed pictures of Styles being essentially date raped by Claire. Claire would glare at AJ from the seats and he would lose matches. Then after months of build, Claire quit because wrestling fans worked themselves into a shoot and found Claire's other acting jobs. Trolling her online relentlessly so she quit to protect her acting career. So then AJ challenges Daniels to a match where if he wins, he takes a paternity test. Now nothing had been stopping AJ from doing this. AJ would win and then bury Clair Lynch by calling her ugly. It's the ultimate example of TNA having an interesting idea, but blowing it, making it shit, and then wasting top talent
