A ventriloquist and his dummy talk about precautions people should take against incendiary bombs - including buckets of water in the hall and a bath full of water for the stirrup pump. The ventriloquist then demonstrates how to use a stirrup pump, predictably he ends up squirting water in his own face!

Ventriloquist is Peter Brough and dummy is known as "Archie Andrews".

This is amazing seeing this 1943 was even a year before my brother Murray was born in 1944, and 5 years before I was born in 1948
Surely, if they ever make a BioPic about Peter Brough, James Acaster should be given the part per default.

Being on radio he didn’t need to keep up his technique, and probably just did the voice the normal way to make sure it was clear and his diction was perfect Of course, tv later was very unforgiving with close up angles too
