PRCA CEO Tom Glause Remembers Patrick Gottsch as Visionary Who Transformed ProRodeo on TV

According to PRCA CEO Tom Glause, Patrick Gottsch's impact on rodeo, from increasing prize money to boosting attendance, will be felt for generations.
"Patrick pursued his vision with passion," Glause said. "When Patrick had something in his mind he didn't just stop with with dreaming of it he pursued it and nothing could get in his way or stop him from from seeing that Vision all the way through."
Gottsch was instrumental in bringing rodeo into millions of homes, significantly increasing the sport's visibility and popularity. After launching the Cowboy Channel in 2020, Gottsch navigated the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic by airing smaller rodeos. This effort helped rodeo grow to over 750 events and 915 televised performances, with prize money rising from $50 million to nearly $75 million.
Nicknamed "Rodeo Elvis" for his popularity, Gottsch connected deeply with fans. He loved receiving feedback and often read their emails to ensure the sport was presented in the best possible light. Glause believes that there is a place for Patrick in the ProRodeo Hall of Fame.
"I firmly believe that Patrick's legacy will live on forever."
