Pranayama Potion - a 20 minute relaxing Yoga With Adriene session for all levels! Join Adriene for this healing practice that focuses on the power of a simple breath ratio technique. Tend to your inner world to tend to your outer world.
Take twenty minutes to calm the nervous system and relieve stress and anxiety. Find stillness, gather yourself, connect to the magic within. (This practice can also be done in a chair.)
This video was shot on location at the Adidas Brick Lane Studio in London and is designed to help you alter your energy state to feel present and balanced.

    Hi Adriene ! Thanks for the practice :D Having asthma I found it really difficult and almost painful to do :S I really tried my best, I know this kind of exercice should help but it was still difficult !

    I did this one sitting in the sun next to a pond with fish and with the autumn leaves coming down in a preoccupying-not-normal but beautiful hot autumn day. Thanks for asking how we are feeling! After I felt so grateful and honoured to have the opportunity to “see you in real life” at the global girls’ summit I realised I still have a long way to go on this journey. Even though the idea of sisterhood and inspiration is very clear to me, I found myself the day after with this critical voice in my head. Asking myself over and over again if I behaved in the right way to show appreciation but thereby downgrading myself. Thanks to your classes about self love I reflected on that and I felt for once the need to share. Thank you for daily reminding us about self-love and being such an inspiration..

    I love your pranayama lessons. Love your yoga at all. I have lot of stress in my work and I am always trapped in my head, don't feel needs of my body, and your videos bring me back into my body, on the ground. Thank you Adrienne ❤

    Exhale Day 9 Belated Happy International Women's Day, I forgot to put it in my comment yesterday🤦🏼‍♀️ I hope you are and have all been celebrated, and remember we are all strong, can do anything and don't let anyone tell you otherwise, we've all got this.     Clicked on it and hated it. Thought to myself “it better not just be this position the entire time” and I wanted to fast forward throughout to see if it was. I didn’t and continued however. About half way through, breathing 4-6’s, my ache in the midst of my back, slightly right side, went away. I had a mental shift and realized this is one I need every morning to ground my mind and improve my posture. It dissolved the negativity within me. What a discovery. Thank you all the way from California to London. Have a good day everyone.

    Robin George It’s all the ego. It’s still very difficult to operate in this system of ego’s in an egoless way. I’m not planning on moving to Tibet to become an egoless monk, but what I will do is work to have an ego of compassion and care instead of the nihilistic tendency’s that know to surface. Yoga helps balance ego and spirt so both work in harmony as best as “we” can manage this dance within the vessel. Thank you for checking my ego. I always appreciate someone else’s perception.     Often we reject the very thing we need. I find that the less I feel like meditating ... the more I need it! And I'm always glad when I push through that feeling and do it anyway!

    Adriene - I was diagnosed with Chronic Pain Disorder 3 years ago, aged 16. I was in constant pain all down the right side of my body for years. I tried everything: painkillers, acupuncture, more, stronger pain killers, hot water bottles, tens machines etc, but nothing really helped. It was so limiting, I couldn’t do sport or walk long distances, it prevented me from going out with friends and even going to school. However, it’s been a lot better the last few months and i put this mainly down to the fact that I started doing yoga around a year ago; it’s helped me unbelievably. Im so much stronger and have this connection to my body that I’ve never made before. I still get the pain and it hasn’t gone completely away, but it’s a lot more manageable now. I’m at university doing a degree that I love, I have some wonderful, new friends, and importantly I am able to live a life that’s not defined by my pain, and it’s wonderful. Thank you Adriene xxx

    Have you looked into your nutrition? Wheat, dairy, meat and sugar cause inflammation which could cause more pain... If you have any questions, write me! Feel better!

    Yoga has helped me with my chronic pain, too! It hasn’t gone away, but yoga helps me feel stronger and connected to my body :)

    Yesterday, I had strong thoughts of killing myself. My mind constantly dared me to harm myself. I cried my self to sleep. When I woke up, my body was aching. I have this video on my watch later list and this morning, I decided to try and live for my loved ones. This practice has healed me and saved me from yesterday's aftermath. Thank you Adriene sensei. Thank you for helping me get back on my feet.

    a few years ago i also made the decision to live for my loved ones. sometimes i go back and have to remake that decision, but lately i've been having days where i've felt that i'm not only happy to be alive for my loved ones, but also happy to be alive for myself, to explore and to reinvent myself. it sometimes is difficult, as i'm attached to old habits that are hurting me but somehow without them i feel like i'm not myself. the ego is strong, but with love within and without it is possible to overcome them and just be. somedays it comes naturally, some days it's nowhere in sight. i hope you too have experienced a day of being happy and grateful to be alive in the past 2 years. sending love, forgiveness and hope to you!

    Love this Bridge day. of breath. Feels amazing and keeping up with a practice daily is inspiring. If I miss a day... I try to do two shorter sessions the next. Fun to see folks from the Breath now on Bridge. Love to you and thank you Adriene for this lovely practice.

    Hello from Scotland. I just drove 5 and a half hour to attend a funeral. Got home and thought.. I wonder what Adriene has for us today and it was a wonderful, peaceful, mindful breathing session. My mind is much calmer now and thank you again for being there for your world-wide community 🙏 🥰

It was really a celebration of the life of a lady who passed away at the age of 101...she had served in the SAS during the war, run a haulage company with her husband and raised a great family. Still Adriene definitely worked her magic which helped after the long drive 🙏

Also, thank you for structuring this ( I’m going to call it a) journey so that it is possible to find a suitable practise if health is an issue or drop out & in if needed.     I rarely post comments on videos, but I'd really like to share this. I started doing yoga with Adriene almost a year ago, with the beginning of the first lockdown in Italy. I was suffering and am still dealing with anxiety issues. More than once I gave up for days or weeks, because it was easier (and I was more used) to not care about myself. Today I started again after 20 days of pause, from the end of "breath", and I am so glad I found the way to reconnect with myself. I wanted to thank you Adriene and all the community for teaching me self love and self kindness. Everyone of us and in the world is worthy, is loved, is important. Thank you for reminding me this everyday. Namaste😊💜🌸🍀

    As much as I love a pranayama practice I find myself getting discouraged when I can't successfully take a big, deep breath in for 6 counts. But then I remind myself that it is all about consistency, practice, and training your mind and body. This reminder happens because of all the encouragement you give Adriene.     Or maybe I'm wrong as Adriene always first puts left foot in and then right over it, which is the case in this video but what she calls left is right and right is left in some movements, does not matter does it. LOVE this practice.

    Blessed Beloved Beauties! Play Day - 17 is soothing and calming. This is an ideal practice to launch my work week. I am excited 😊 I get to tutor the impressionable youth in English and explain why reading 📚 is important and fun, ad well as, writing✍️🏽 so, is it really work?! Anywho, returning to the breath is the key 🔑 to the life force energy. My teacher in Chicago always says that. I am so grateful for awesome teachers like him and the wonderful Adriene.     Lovely for the late afternoon here. It has been a nice day, despite only sleeping three and a half hours last night. I felt motivated to go to a bakery where they make nice treats, and procure some warm apple turnovers for my Korean co-workers who work Saturdays. I had planned to take a nap but that never happened. Needless to say, I was dozing a bit during this. Enjoy! Still day 23. 384 days in a row.

    10.17 🧘🏿‍♂️ Seventeenth day of PLAY! Today's practice told me to collect myself. There were times where I felt like crying during the practice, I wanted to but the tears didn't spill out so I carried on 😭 Adriene, what you said about the world is something that really got me, 19:43? Whew.

    I've done this practice several times now as I've been with the YWA community over 3 years already. 🙂 But only today the practice REALLY hit me - it was 100% what I needed today, I was filled with self-compassion and literally cried the whole time.     For Day 21 of Bridge, our super Sunday, I did this practice on my sofa, as my arthritis wouldn’t allow me to sit so long cross legged on my mat. This way I really enjoyed it. I followed this awesome practice with Gentle, Relaxing, Cozy Flow for some yummy slow stretches. This combination is perfect because it ends with a breath count of 5 in, then 7 out, exactly as in today’s Pranayama Potion. I was so zenned, I had to get up off my mat carefully and REAL SLOW 😆 but feeling relaxed and happy. See you tomorrow on the mat Adriene 🙏🧘🏼‍♀️🧘🏻‍♀️💕

    Dang! I’m sorry the flare up is causing so much pain. That was so loving to take it to the couch. I hope as the weather passes the pain eases and you have things to distract you from it. I’m sending my healing thoughts from cloudy Seattle. I hope this doesn’t mean the meds aren’t working? With you and Adriene I’m going to give myself a chance to feel comfortable in my own pain. 💞🇬🇧🙏🏻☀️🌷🌲

    Thank you for your kind words Laura. I think the meds are starting to settle in but it’s the inactivity due to lockdown that causes the trouble. After all that freezing weather, this week our weather is warming and I’m looking forward to the spring and my gardening.     @@gillsmith6740 the closest I get to gardening is watching Rosemary and Thyme! I wish Adriene had a practice for getting a sense of humor. I tried finding yoga videos for laughter and all I found were parodies. Some were actually funny but I didn't laugh! I am missing a bone.

    My body needed some movement today so I swapped from this practice filmed here in England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 for Yoga For Flexibility, that wonderful loving stretchy practice, so beneficial for this senior yogi. My mat is a happy place 🙏 🧘🏼‍♀️🧘🏻‍♀️🙏💕 (looks like Halloween week ! 👻🎃😊)

    After today’s practice I feel grounded and lifted at the same time, that is when I finally found stillness. Now I am calm and relaxed and will try to keep this for the whole day.

    Same here I just done this now, and I littrelly had some experience, first time to have it, I had my eyes closed mostly through it all and I really seen myself on the mat, I visualised myself the mat my breathing the flow of my breathing through the body, it littrelly brought me stillness, I wish there was more session like this just sitting doing different breathing exercises only, pranayana style only , great video ad

    Wow, my last practice for this flow was 3months with BRIDGE, and I m still here! Yay! Happy to just be with my intentions and breathing. Expand my mind and body into a different state. Yoga with Adriene has helped me survive the pandemic and recover from a recent back injury - I don't know what I would have done without you!     That was pretty relaxing and calming, I am really trying to retrain in breathing more deeply as I stated that I do apex breathing which has made me lazy in breathing deeply. I am reminding myself and conscientiously taking deeper breaths and yes I was staying with you through the whole practice. Thank you once again❤️Namaste🧘🏽‍♂️

    Adriene, thank you. You’re the first person who has made me enjoy yoga. My hips and hamstrings thank you also. But mostly, my heart. The way you talk and are authentic helps a lot. You identify with hard days and great days. You help me meet myself where I’m at. I’ve only been doing your videos for 10 days in a row now but I’m proud of myself and can tell I am growing already. The ability to feel and see my emotions vs react is the first thing I noticed, second is my flexibility and less dissociating. Third is, i can tell if I haven’t done yoga yet in a day. I crave the mat now and am grateful to practice with you! Thank you friend! Peeling back one layer at a time to meet myself.

    Adriene-first time commenter, but really hope you see this one: In January, I attempted the 30 day yoga journey for the 3rd time. Tried 3 years in a row and just couldn’t stick with it. I hadn’t found exercise or movement that resonated with me enough to stick with it. I have a tough relationship with my body. Former dancer, gained ~100lbs over the past 11 years after I stopped dancing and never could stay consistent with a fitness routine or if I did, I got injured doing it. Every type of exercise feel like a chore This year’s Breath was the first 30 day I completed. And now in June, I’m still here. I can only describe it as: it was just the right time this time around for me. It felt right. It felt like an oddly divine push that compelled to keep going. I never planned to adopt a daily practice, but here I am. It’s the first time I feel strong and SEE how strong I feel. I notice the differences in my every day breathing, and my overall outlook feels lighter. My husband and I recently moved and I had to miss the end of May’s calendar. Previously, I would have given up after that. But I’m still here and motivated to keep going. Thank you for cultivating such an inclusive space for my fellow fat folks. It’s never about the weight loss or the way you can look from yoga here. It’s the connection, the inner reflection, and the ~expansion~ to be part of something greater. Thank you, thank you, thank you. So eternally grateful for this channel, you, and this community.

    Expand day 3, second time doing this wonderful breathing practice! I loved it more, it is going into my favourite list, I think it is really helpful to do it once in a while which can help the right breathing during our practice as well as its calmig effect! As Adriene says breath comes first and through breathing I can stay in presence! Thank you Adriene❤🥰

    Adriene, I've been doing yoga every morning with you for the past last year, and I'm extremely grateful for that, you've been a true blessing in my life and I can't thank you enough. This practice in particular is an all-time favourite. Everytime I feel anxious or blue, I play Prayanama Potion. This is the best grounding practice for me. I always step off the mat feeling extremely light and relieved, capable of seeing the world in a brighter light. Thank you so much, you are wonderful. 🙏🏻✨
