The day before churches were shut down in Sydney, we very quickly recorded, with a very reduced and socially-distanced St Andrew's Cathedral Choir, several well-known hymns and psalms. We hope to share more shortly. We hope that you find them all useful in this difficult time when churches are unable to meet. Please feel free to share this or incorporate it in your online act of worship by downloading it. There is no copyright due, if you use it for your online services during this time. this was the processional for my wedding. I learned this hymn in German at 3 years old in Frankfurt and have loved it ever since

That enthusiasm is a gift to any choir director: not only the ability to sing well but also communicate well and enjoy doing what you are doing. You can always reign it in a bit!
Smart to record these before the evil draconian lockdowns came in. God bless you for recording these to bring hope to people during the evil times.
In full voice despite the strain of lockdown: what top blokes. I hope those trebles, now grown men, especially are flourishing. They have a really bright tone and loads of enthusiasm especially the little chap on the left. Dad has trained him well. I love it!

The song is composed by the German pastor Joachim Neander (Lobe den Herren, den mächtigen König der Ehren). The Neander Valley (German: Neanderthal), was named after him, and this, in turn is the namesake for early humans.
