Great video! Enjoy seeing you enjoy the .222 as I enjoy mine. Have a Savage 340, love it for coyotes, fox, crows,...etc, here in MI. Have taken 2 crows lined up together at 200 yards, twice. Had 3 crows lined up at 150 yards, after the shot, 2 were laying there and the 3rd dropping feathers as he left. 3 generations of the family have taken whitetail deer with it. Thanks for the videos, entertaining and instructional.

About 30 years ago I fired into a flock of sparrows with my Mossberg 500 12 gauge pump with a 28" vent rib barrel with the modified choke installed. I was using 2 3/4" 1 1/8 oz #9 shot. One shot hit and killed at least 25 of them all at the same time. I left them for the cats who were going nuts to help themselves to dinner. I have shot pairs of things over the years too, but that one shot was a lucky one in a million that I have never been able to duplicate since.

👍...I prefer my 222's (Browning Abolt and a rare Voere Titan Menor Singleload ) although over my 223 (cz527). I bought the CZ because of the use with an Ljuddämpar and the use of heavy Bullets. With my old Voere i shoot this spring nearly the Worldrecord with 222 from the year 1974 (one Flyer) with a 3-9 scope and 52 grain HPBT. Both Cartridges are great for Training, Reloading and Hunting. Sir I'm replying to your 10 months old comment about 222 VS 223 and I'll share my opinion that the 223 exists only because 556 was adopted by the US military and NATO. Other than that, it's difficult to argue that 223 is superior and impossible for me to make such an argument. Cheers.

Was just out in SD for a prairie dog shoot last month. Been doing it every year for the past 5 years and this year was one for the record books. Most dogs I've ever seen. Went through about 2400 rounds in 3 days. Just curious, what part of SD are you shooting in?
@jshkskansas897
Жыл бұрын
Remind me to never loan you a rifle. You say about 2400, we will say2000 rounds. Call it a 12 hour day. By my math that comes out to an average of .90 shots per minute for 12 hours for three days. I hunt prairie dogs two to three times a year. I have never ever had a rate of fire of that rate. Curious of what CONFIRMED hit percentage was. Impressive to say the least.
@neilhyman8165

@@jshkskansas897 I should clarify that it was me and my two sons, so three of us shooting from about 9:00 am to 6:00 pm for three days. We estimated our hit rate to be about 70-80 percent. We had a lot of targets under 250 yards which is not common for us. Historically 80 percent of our shots have been between 250 and 400. But this year, they were closer and with little to no wind which is also very uncommon for SD. And also all bolt guns, no semi autos. Shooting .223, .243 and 6.5 Creedmoor. Went through about 1400 rounds of .223, 600 rounds of .243 and just about 400 rounds of 6.5CM. Oh and about 20 rounds of .308 but the .308 was way too loud and was scaring them down, so I put the .308 away.
