Although I m not a congress supporter but I will say Indira Gandhi did absolutely right thing in nationalising banks and also abolishing pensions for old kings. No special status for royal families in democratic country..... 👍👍👍

Today many disregard Late Mrs.Indira Gandhi ji but they should forget that she took bold steps which had positives impacts Nationalization of Banks,1971 war,Pokhran I in 1974,saving Punjab from terrorism etc. Yes She imposed emergency but her contributions are much more greater than her wrong decisions. We should respect her rather than accusing her.

No disrespect to Morarji Bhai, but his record spoke against him, giving his baiters opportunity. He didn't even show sympathy for Lal Bahadur Shastriji on his death or his widow. He used to look towards even a cross spectrum respected patriot like Jayaprakash Narayan with disrespect. When Desai became PM, there was celebration at my house. But my Dad and Grandfather became disillusioned with his Government not soon after.

The biggest transition of a party of National Interest to a Party of Political interest, is what we did wrong!!! But now the question is is the alternative worth it????

Trust me if it was a male PM who had divided Pakistan into 2 parts, these Indians would have forgiven him for Emergency. They would have been worshipping him. In India, if you do any good (nationalisation, abolition of privy purse) but you are a female, then you can't be given credit. That's how these people and their minds work. The same talent is worshipped in Amit Shah as he can get anyone on his side, being a shrewd politician is respected if the politician is Male. He is Chanakya. AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, I have noticed that my sisters can see these videos objectively without any political bias but all my Indian brothers, as always being regressive and not objective, they always see these videos as a Congressi Pilla or Modi Bhakt. Truth hurts.

she did it for good of nation. people were dying due to lack of foodgrains. Agriculture was not in position of feeding the people. India of today was different from India of 1966. Yes emergency was not good decisions but if you see the positive decisions they are much more than negative ones like 1. Banking Nationalisation 2. Pokhran I 3. Integrated Child Development Program (Anganwadis to provide nutritional support to women and childern in rural areas) 4. Eliminating terrorism from Punjab etc.

+Preeti Gehlot In 1971 it might have been okay, but in today's time Indira's "European Memsahab comes home to have pity on her vernacular countrymen" personality would have never worked, she didn't have a thing to her credit except nationalization of banks, You can't credit Bangladesh War to her, it was all due to the perseverance of Indian Army. Modi would have torn her apart if she tried something like Emergency today.(BTW I am comparing while both politicians were at their peak, Modi was 20-21 during Indira's time).
