at 1984 i was in 11th standard my mom dad was in punjab amritsar i was alone at home when the danga start in my home i collect near about 14 sikh ladies and gentes i lock my home in day time and spend time out there and come at night and open home they spend 5 days in my home iam a proud hindu punjabi i try to feel them safe

@neha k: I am writing as Hindu......Somehow, in the propaganda the name of Hindus gets tarnitioned even though its Congress.....Especially among NRIs/PIOs second generation. Hindu activists should take responsibility to clear the doubts. Still VHP /Shankaracharyas/Other religious bodies should also apologize on behalf of Hindus as far as some mistakes are there. As for the riots my father told that ....lots of people were killed/thrown from AIIMS/Safdarjung flyover....its an overall shame for country..... Also it is to be stated that there were several non-Hindus in riots, also ppl hardened criminals were related from Jails.... The criminal (who ever surviving) are mostly getting dead due to old age....As Subrahmsnyam swamy says....its should be quickly tried under genocide convention....

Sikh riots drew a line between the two communities but one must always remember that it was the government who provoked the riots to take and not the common people of any community. I feel very sad how politics divide the community, and it seems an unending process. Even rajiv gandhi should not have tried to appease any particular community, leader should always take bold step for the welfare of the people and be firm on that, no matter what.

Adarsh Katukuri The fact is that but for the leadership and sacrifice of Indira and rajiv Punjab would have become another Kashmir. It are they who showed courage and conviction to bite the bullet to eradicate extremism and terrorism from Punjab and here ignorant fools are blaming them. Sikh riots were tragic and unfortunate but there is no proof of involvement of the then PM Rajiv in that. By that alleged statement, if it was indeed made by him, he wud have only meant that the riots were spontaneous and not planned. Riot was fully brought under control within 3 days unlike riots in some other states which went on for months.

This is how politics of India after independence was evolved targeting people creating more hatred between Indians on religious basis. Public should become smart keep the government in check and stop the government to use people's religion(Hinduism,Sikhism,Islam etc) as tools to get the power in the country. If Indian fight within them self we become week to be exploited by other countries.Our Nation is a best nation in the world. The time chosen for attack was Martyrdom day of Guru Arjun Dev ji, when thousands of Sikhs devotees visit the temple and were available at the time of attack. No warnings were given to them , nor they were allowed to come out. If Sant Bhindrawale and his men were the target, then they would have taken action at some other occasion. But intentions were clear, political mileage, continuing dynastic rule by this family. None of the GUNDAS who participated in this genocide, have been punished, but we're awarded cabinet berths in he union cabinet. Till date not a single family affected has got justice for the last 30 years. THIS GENOCIDE WAS WORST THAN THOSE OF AHMED SHAH ABDALI AND NADIR SHAH OF EIGHTEENTH CENTURY. SHAME ON CONGRESS GOVERNMENT!!!!!

Prof.Debasis Dash The fact is that but for the leadership and sacrifice of Indira and rajiv Punjab would have become another Kashmir. It are they who showed courage and conviction to bite the bullet to eradicate extremism and terrorism from Punjab and here ignorant fools are blaming them. Sikh riots were tragic and unfortunate but there is no proof of involvement of the then PM Rajiv in that. By that alleged statement, if it was indeed made by him, he wud have only meant that the riots were spontaneous and not planned. Riot was fully brought under control within 3 days unlike riots in some other states which went on for months.
