नेपालका राजनीतिक दलहरुमा किन कुनै पनि युवा नेता चाँडै उच्च नेतृत्वमा पुग्न सक्दैन ? पार्टीहरुको प्रणालीमै के त्यस्तो जटिलता छ, जसले निकै क्षमतावान नेतालाई समेत नेतृत्व तहमा पुग्न दिदैन ? वा त्यसबेला मात्र पुग्न दिन्छ, जुन बेला उसको जोश-जाँगर र उर्जा पहिलेभन्दा निकै खस्किसकेको हुन्छ ।
मैले नेपाली कांग्रेसका महामन्त्री एवं सांसद गगन थापासँग यिनै प्रश्नहरुबाट यो कुराकानी थालेको थिएँ । उनी स्वयंले राजनीति गर्न थालेको झण्डै तीन दशक पुग्न लागिसक्यो । उनी पार्टी नेतृत्वका आकांक्षी पनि हुन्, तर त्यहाँ पुग्न सकिरहेका छैनन् । के उनलाई आफ्नो लोकप्रियता पहिलेभन्दा खस्कन थालेको महसूस हुँदैन ? उनले नेपालमा उदाएका नयाँ राजनीतिक शक्तिहरुलाई कसरी हेरेका छन् ? आम जनतामा समग्र राजनीतिक वर्गप्रति बढेको वितृष्णा र आक्रोशलाई कुन रुपमा लिएका छन् ?
मैले थापासँग यी र यस्तै प्रश्नहरुको वरिपरी रहेर वार्तालाप गरेको छु ।
Why can't any young leader in Nepal's political parties reach the top leadership positions soon? Is there such complexity in the party systems that even very capable leaders are unable to rise to the top? Or do they only allow them to reach leadership roles when their enthusiasm and energy have significantly waned?
I began my conversation with Nepali Congress General Secretary and Member of Parliament, Gagan Thapa, with these questions. It has been nearly three decades since he started his political career. Despite being an aspirant for party leadership, he has not been able to attain that position. Does he feel that his popularity is beginning to decline? How does he view the emergence of new political forces in Nepal? How has he taken the general public's disgust and anger towards the entire political class?
I have discussed these and other related issues with Thapa.

वर्तमान राजनीतिमा गगन समाधान हो ।उसले सबै कुरा जान्दिन भन्छ । मलाई धेरै कुरा सिक्नु छ भन्छ , सार्वजनिक रूपमै आफ्नो गल्ती भए सरी भन्छ । उ कहिल्यै रहस्य भएन । उ खुला पुस्तक हो । गगन हाम्रो आशा हो , भरोसा हो । आजको राजनीतिको IDEA हो । उ फगत व्यक्ति होइन , विचार हो । हामी विचार जहाँ छ त्यहीँ उभिनेछौँ ।
