Practicing on my Miller Custom pedal steel guitar

A short sample of a practice session on my home built Miller Custom pedal steel guitar. It shows a close up of my pick blocking technique. I know it is incorrect but I have been playing this way since 1983 and I am 70. It is a little too late for me to change now. A word to the wise... Don't let your bad habits become fixed. Find a good teacher and learn the correct way.

Lovely sound, both the guitar and your playing. I love when you post songs, it inspires me to practice as well, and reminds me of my dad! Like the other comments, I really like the color of this guitar, it's very striking! Thanks for the video.

Building a 6 string, i noticed that on my pull-release knee levers, the LKL-R leaves the pitch a few cents flat after returning to E, and LKL-L fixes the pitch after engaging and disengaging again. I've tried adding more tension and it helped a wee bit, but I wonder if you've ever run into this issue and if so, do you normally just put up with the few cents or is there another strategy to keep things 'perfect' in tune? the pedals don't give me any issues with tuning, pretty much only the LKL-R.

Yes I have had that. I had to make sure nothing had any drag at all. Fingers lever cross shaft the rods in the holes of the bell cranks and even had to tighten up the release spring some on the E to D# lever. All these things in check will minimize that problem as much as possible.
