Practicing a jazz trumpet sound
I try to use the absolute minimum of air, whilst playing with a large aperture.
When I say 'no' air in the video I mean don't blow. Just let the air come out like when you breathe naturally!
It takes a fair bit of practice to get the hang of it! Still working on it myself, but it makes playing much easier for me!
Experiment with the balance between the two to achieve a more open, airy jazz sound (if that's what you are after).
