DJK has the best Diecast collecting channel on KZread, he’s great. And you’ve done a wonderful job editing and presenting this interview too! Really engaging videos, and a fitting tribute to DJK’s amazing consistency. Thank you for doing this.

Thank you, Michael! Yes he is awesome and deserves a little tribute. I warned him in the interview I had only found his channel a few weeks ago, but I’m going to be watching from now on!

I've been following Champ for just over a year now. Thanks for interviewing him! There is a lot of good information here. I have a real mixed bag collection that is by most collecting standards quite small but it is very meaningful to me. I have cars in the collection that I wouldn't have if it wasn't for Champ.

Great interview. At first i watched a few of his videos but once i really saw the content, i was hooked. A very down to earth person that with the videos helps others showcase some great castings. I like the fact that he likes odd companies seeing that make things you would otherwise think was not made. For myself, i have been collecting various things for 50 years. Model kits, diecast in all scales of all types of vehicles. His advice is on point. However i also feel everyone will not follow it and fall into rabbit holes before remembering the advice that was told in tbe first place. 1/64 scale (or should i say 3" scale given the basic sizing they come in) is at its best now. Tons to look at get. Low or high end castings to pick out. All depending your budget and buying habits. It is nice to see him talk about how he does his collecting just down to earth he is. He is right in the fact that this should be treating this in a fun way. It can be easy to get caught the hype of cars like hotwheels and be put off the lack of supply. I work by a walmart and for good or bad stop by it to (maybe too many times) to see what comes in. But i go in at times find nice stuff. My collection has grown nicely with a range of both used and new castings. At times stuff will go and new castings added. Although i enjoy watching his stuff but you still need to enjoy your own collection as well if not more so seeing it is yours. If you can not do this then you may not really be into this hobby in the first place. I do know i like digging into older stuff to find old stuff thst becomes new again. That is the part of the joy of the hobby.

I'm building a "back lot" car show diorama and that's what keeps me sane right now. I'm in the stores looking for Food Trucks and City Worker vehicles, the porta john truck, lol. While everyone else is fighting over supers. I'm about to turn 60 and have kept a few cars over the years, plus bought some really cool stuff back around 94/95 when the 4 car series really took off, along with buying what I like since. I should have a constant flow of cars that you would want to see at a car show in real life. I can't wait t o get it finished and see what cool pictures will come from it!
