Everything at the Airlines is seniority based. My father was a mechanic out of EWR. Overtime, training ,holidays off is all based on Seniority. Even layoffs

Quick question please I am from Europe and I heard that there is a possibility to study aerospace engineering or Aviation at the University and combine it with getting licenses (CPL,IR,PPL)for becoming a pilot so I will not become an engineer rather I will become a pilot so do you have any idea about this thing or how it works ?
