How does this pan keep the filter from falling down? Do you recommend the merchant automotive filter lock?

the PPE pans come with a built in - from the PPE site-PPE’s exclusive built-in filter lock comes standard and keeps deep filters securely in place. Allen-head mounting bolts and a new deep filter are included Also wade mentions the extra fins that act as the filter lock at 1:48

I just changed my fluid and external filter. 25K mile interval. I did. NOT know the Allison had a internal filter. 7.25 Qts drain & fill.

As a pipefitter/welder I went with snuging up, the front n back bolts first, but three times around n a wiggle half way thru, seems like it's a simple process, even if your doing this on the ground if you push thru, it can be a simple process pan off n on in 20 minutes, just do it, I gotta go get a whole nother gallon Monday,

You should definitely run Transynd TES-295 or the new TES-688.

This pan work on my 2000 series in my school bus?

Would you guys have any recommendations for removing a trans dipstick on a 03 lb7? Or getting the stock downpipe out I got everything unbolted just can’t get the dang thing out

It could be bent on not wanting to come out. I have never removed one in the truck, the trans have always been out of the truck.

What spray adhesive did you use for the Gasket?

We call it tack gasket, but any automotive gasket adhesive, found at most parts houses.

A $300 pan and it doesn’t come with a $25 gasket? Come on now. I know it’s reusable but on my 2003 the gasket was so hard and brittle there’s no way I’d leave it in there.

Not sure why it didn't come with an o ring like the mag hytec pan.

I just ordered one for an aisin trans, do I need a spacer for the filter to sit lower in the pan? I couldn’t find one.

On my 2013 dually I did the PPE engine and transmission oil pan upgrade, but after some time I noticed that my transmission temperature would go up why is that. But when I had the original pan on it it wouldn't do that, and all I use it for is to travel far out of haul my toy hauler, and I checked my fluid level and it's where it needs to be?

What is the purpose besides cooler transmission? And that goes in stock transmission?

Prolonged ATF life, I believe it almost doubles life of the fluid. I noticed much cooler temps while hauling also runs a lot smoother.

The PML pan instructions say to NOT use the stock magnet in the Pml pan or sever transmission pan damage can occur, however the Pml only comes with a tiny magnet on the end of the drain bolt. How can the old magnet pose a danger??

the PPE pan is aluminum therefore the magnet will not stick to it.

Is it true that Thorobred Diesel will not ship this to California?

The trans pans and diff covers can ship to California

Maybe this is a dumb question.. but why , especially on a deep pan, is there not a magnet siting in bottom to collect metal shavings that might occur over time

Some of the pan manufacturers include that and some don't. I don't have a good re reason for why it would have been omitted from the design.

I just bought a LBZ and I dont know when the fluid was changed last. I out a new spin on filter on but I'm deathly afraid of changing out the internal filter. Not because I couldn't do it. But because I've seen and heard so many trans dying after words

Your transmission isn't going to fail because you changed internal filter and added new fluid. Allison does however state to not flush the transmission...ever. Dump and fill with Transynd Fluid and Allison filters.

Transmissions generally fail after a service because they were failing before the service, and the reason for the service was because it was slipping or slow to go in gear or shifting funny to begin with.

Allison doesn’t recommend replacing the internal filter unless a major overhaul 🤷🏻‍♂️

Ummm, the stock filter is for a shallow pan, it will not work to well with a deep pan. You need a filter that is longer for the deeper pan. You are correct, Allison does state the internal filter doesn't need to be replaced unless overhauling, but you have no choice when changing transmission pans to other than stock depth.

When it says they don’t recommend that you change it,,, Are you saying they discourage it,, or that it’s not necessary? Those are kinda different ..... like it isnt necessary to change oil every 2000 miles.. so they don’t recommend it.... but it doesn’t do any harm,

I actually play this music when I'm working on my duramax it has decreased most of the cussing I did while working on my truck.
