I try to visit family in Poznan from the US every summer. Last summer there was so much construction, but from what I have heard a lot of it is coming to an end. I have walked around a lot of these areas you show here, but I have not yet been inside the Zamek. Yes the concentration camp is pretty far, almost to the airport. When we visited we took a tram, and still had a little bit of a walk. Looking forward to your next Poznan video.

The construction has been going on a very long time but I think by the time this summer comes around we might be almost there. They are taking their time because it seems they are doing it with care. As a Londoner who is exposed to lots of bad roadworks I’m Envious how the Polish are doing it so beautifully with care. I witnessed similar craftsmanship in Ukraine before the war. Thank you for watching and at least 2 more videos on Poznan to come :)

Thanks for sharing. At 5 min mark, she asked: "Super, będę w filmie u Pana?" that translates to: "Awesome, will I be part of your movie?". I think she laughed because while you gave an accurate reply ('yeah') your accent indicated that you didn't understand the question. Wholesome moment.

@@TheWonderingEnglishman thank you very much. Coincidentally, we are staying in the B&B hotel!! 😂 Cannot believe how cheap it is!? It looks like such a central location and the quality looks decent also!! What is the nightlife like?

@Curlyman83 it’s a great location - nightlife is pretty good - it’s not crazy but there’s good places to eat and drink and certainly enough to keep most people entertained.

Excellent. We are a small stag do - don’t want to do anything too crazy but we are definitely hoping for som good bars and nightclubs. Fancied something a bit different from Krakow / Prague (both wonderful cities, admittedly). Hope Poznan turns out to be good!!

I've always meant to visit Poland more than I have - briefly to Przemyśl and Rzeszów - but I've always been impressed when I did. A few days in Lublin planned for February, though. It'll be a shame if Tusk is allowed to drag Poland into the shit show that much of the rest of Europe is becoming, but hopefully the good Poles won't stand for that. Great content as always, thanks.

Well, beautiful Poznan. But who made up that goofy Terrorist Map 2023 at 28:36? High risk in Germany, medium in Russia, low in Ukraine?!? Well, better don't choose your next vacation destination based on that map... (by the way: The screenshot states the year 2023, but the "Source" aka Global Terrorism Index is not yet published for 2023. Looks like you got yourself caught in a little hoax there.)

It was published March 2023: reliefweb.int/report/world/global-terrorism-index-2023 Ukraine has had an invasion by Russia. The figures relate to islamic, left wing, far right terrorism. You may have noticed I’ve visited every country in Europe trying to understand where is safe and where is not. Having spent long periods in Germany, France, Belgium and UK where terrorism is high. These figures are correct. No hoax sadly. The bleak future Europe has given itself by welcoming Islamic mass migration.

10:00 This is a monument to Polish mathematicians. They were the ones who broke the Enigma code. The Cipher Bureau organized a cryptology course for the best mathematics students with knowledge of German at the University of Poznań in January 1929. The Enigma code was broken already in 1932. Alan Turing only expanded the Bomb - Bomba decryption machine. The Poles handed over the broken Enigma code and the Bomba machine to the British and French before II W.W.. Polish intelligence knew that there was no time to expand the machine. The Germans added a rotor - impeller. This resulted in increased cryptographic capabilities. If these mathematicians had been added to Turing's team, the new machine would have been created two years earlier. This is the current assessment of most modern historians. Marian Rejewski, Jerzey Różycki and Henryk Zygalski were appreciated after many years. A large commemorative plaque was unveiled in Bletchley Park a few years ago. In pop culture, only Alan Turing exists, of course. Why Chopin's funeral march? The changes made by Donald Tusk's government have enormous public support. We were fed up with the populist and fascist PiS government.
