Good info. Thanks Bill. I've been in the fugazzi with my 6.0. Weird noise...Ford dealer said "you need a new turbo"...replaced...still weird noise..."you need new front hubs"...swapped those out...still weird noise. This time I put in the time and effort myself to investigate and it was the parking brake cable froze up on the passenger side causing the pads to drag. Expensive lesson!

Wow its amazing dealer stupidity nowadays. I worked at gm dealer for nine years went thru stc training and I'm in the independent world 6 years now and I can tell what a noise is front or rear and distinguish brake noises from a hub or turbo or whatever. Who ever worked ur truck there needs to find a new CAREER. That kinda stuff ain't allowed anywhere.

Great Advice!! Took my Truck to 2 Ford Dealers as I needed a manual regeneration on my 6.7 After I paid the dealer, they told me I had a bad PCM because it had a P106A DTC code they couldn’t clear. I told them I didn’t have the money to fix it. After some research, I could not locate a P106A code for my dies truck. Part of me wants to call out the dealership online.

I kinda did the self inflicted FUGAZZI on my 7.3...... But, the good thing is that I changed out all of the sensors and other high mileage (180k) parts that needed to be changed anyways. Low speed chugging and an occasional miss at idle, was my problem. Now fixed and running great! And FYI, I highly recommend Bill's Performane Mods. The torque increase was HUUUUUUGE! And Bill, Thank You for your support of all of my fellow VETERANS. You Sir, are a Patriot!

My issue with the 6.0 is that I got in a Fugazzi with Cherokee Ford.... turbo, CAC fittings, oil cooler, fuel tank, and the last straw was the gauge cluster. My feeling got hurt at that point and I went to Atkins Ford got a decant price for a trade in and x plan on a 2017. Lost a couple thousand but glad I washed my hands.

Great video - also the quality of replacement parts used in the diesel repair process has a huge impact on the longevity of the repair. There are lots of "cheap" diesel parts out there getting sold, but the customer will eventually end up repeatedly replacing them & any supposed savings is gone (especially when you start adding in labor costs). We use mainly OE (dealer) diesel parts and by the looks of Bill's other videos he is also a strong believer in OE (dealer) replacement parts. There are always exceptions but only after any non-OE parts have been installed on one of our own personal trucks & tested in real world conditions, would we ever consider using them on a customer's diesel truck.

What is this 7.3 "repair all the problems" issue that Bill is alluding to? My experience has been that 7.3's have 1 problem every N number of years or YY,YYY number of miles, not multiples. HPO o-rings, crank sensor, valve-cover wiring harnesses, oil cooler, etc. These seem to all fail at different intervals.

I worked as a mechanic in a Ford and a Chrysler dealership not the same company but at both job interviews I was only asked 2 questions #1 do you have tools I answered of course I do I’m a mechanic, #2 when can you start? I never got asked any questions about my experience or abilities, never got any training or offered any. That was it! First day I was doing a engine swap on a F150. They where so desperate for mechanics they hired anyone with a toolbox that was breathing. I quit a few months later as the service salesman was screwing the customers and insisting I write up brand new cars in for their first oil change for needing brakes ball joints and any wear items that weren’t covered under warranty! Obviously there wasn’t anything wrong with these parts on a car with 5,000 miles or less! I refused and started getting 90% warranty work dumped on me. Went to Chrysler and the same fraud was being committed, I went back to an independent shop after that. I’m so glad I’m retired from this business I can’t imagine having to work on this crap they are building today. It was enjoyable work up till about 10-12 years ago when the engineers decided they didn’t give a fuck about quality or serviceability. I really miss working on 1960s and 70s cars! Those days were when being a mechanic was enjoyable and something to be proud of. Not oh joy another shitbox with no room to get to anything with the same damn failure that the manufacturer hasn’t fixed in several model years.

@@dirtbikechopper2012 We have Bulletproof Diesel in Mesa AZ and AJ's Auto in Henderson NV. AJ's is a Powerstroke specialist. They Bulletproofed my 6.0 a few years ago. The F350 is hauling through the desert!

I have to say I found your videos to late I had 3 6.0 powestroke trucks in my business fleet and I traded them all in with 225k miles or so due to the whole it was this then that then this if I had found you sooner I would have gladly spent the money to haul them all down and have them all done with full dealer proofing by you and if I find a good deal on one again u will be doing it

I listened to Bill and put 5w40 synthetic with archoil 1900 in my 1999 7.3 and wanted to die. Immediately the motor felt fresh. I have 300k on my truck and his free advice kept me from jumping into injector replacement. Thank you powerstrokehelp.com

Why do I need to pay a dealer for 1hr or more labor to hook up a computer and get the same dtc 8 can get with tourqe pro? Sure it won't do contribution tests or balance or even cycle the ipr but it's great to monitor with and do alot of troubleshooting with.
