If you know the music industry,being a talented singer or a good one at that will not land you in the top 40.It's all about making bank and how much the industry can suck out of you. But tb ,since Chance basically made it without a record company, it just proved that you really don't need one to be successful. We have the internet we can make a career and living without them until them screw us over

Right. The movie is almost 20 years old at the time of this recording. He's still able to sing like he could when he was in his 20s, no notable loss in rang or quality. That's what Jefferrrson is commenting on.

The most underrated Disney Movie ever, i remember when it came out in 95 and my dad bought the VHS ( for the kids from the 2000's, ask your mom N dad or your older sibling what VHS is.) it was like that OMG moment. To me one of the best soundtrack ever produced for a animated movie. God i feel old, i'll be 30 next january can't belive the movie is already more than 20 year old.

I love how he still pays tribute to this movie and sings the songs. His voice hasn’t changed one bit. So many good movie songs are left behind and pop singers don’t revisit them. Tevin is a champion. The nostalgia!!

Powerline is a furry fussion of MJ and Prince and that's great.

He's one of those artists where even after all this time, he still sounds like he did in the original recording, if not even better now.. Would love to see him do more appearance stuff..

seriously, and i love mj - he's my favorite artist of all time. tevin's range and control is crazy - the low notes during that little rap part?? and the fact that he's still hitting these teenager notes in his 40s! he's too underrated!

I think, if he'll reborn in 2018 as Powerline, with our days technology and animation, he'll be new old superstar with huge army of fans. Its would be super content with not only nostalgy, because he have perfect voice. Not much peoples knows Tevin Campbell. But billions of them knows Powerline. Eye to eye!

He was the perfect choice to sing for Powerline and play Seaweed in Hairspray on broadway

Tevin was beloved, and a big hit all throughout the 90s, chose to keep a low profile on his own aside from Broadway in the 2000s, and came back in the 2010s and has been doing well since. He could have been much bigger, but maybe he didn't want that. Don't say something that is flat out, objectively false. why would you use someone's probable struggle just to push your agenda? Don't slander him like that.

Okay, I stumbled across "Powerline" mentions from a tweet on Twitter and it piqued my curiosity and found this gem of a performance by Tevin Campbell who voiced this character in a Disney movie back in 1995....WOW!!! I LOVE Disney movies ever since I was a kid (now in my 50's) and still enjoy this platform of movies and musicals (to the chagrin of my Nieces/Nephews) who are now adults and I cannot drag them to the movie theaters like I did when they were younger....hee-hee-hee!!! Tevin Campbell's voice is still AMAZING and definitely would love to see/hear him MORE!!!
