Like I said, most pros skate because they love it. He skates because he has too, because it's apart of him. I started skating around 95, and have never seen anything like him over the years. It's crazy watching him because you truly never know what the hell he is going to do.

The sickest part is how he does really creative stuff that stuck up people might call gimmicky, and then throws huge, grinds, airs, and flip tricks, just in case they thought all he had was the left field stuff. Best part I’ve ever seen.

@@wildcat31772 yep. there is a reason tony hawk can still do what he does at 50+ and one of those reasons is definitely the pads/ helmet etc. i think i would rather still be skating in my 50's. the man that skates for the fun and doesnt care what he looks like is the bigger man to me. if all you are about is fashion. that almost diminshes the baddass-ness of not wearing pads in the first place. but i get it, i was young once and never wore pads. i still dont really. just wrist braces/ gloves. but they are totally worth it. i had massive wrist problems from falling on them so much and it can be hard to hold down a job if you keep re-injuring them. after the wrist braces its a non issue, falling no loner re-injures them. i respect andy so much for just doing his thing and not caring what people think. plus its a cool oldschool vibe anyway in my opinion that helmet etc.
