POV: you left the United States for a better quality of life for your son & yourself.

The tone is different depending on who asks the question “Why did you leave the U.S.?”
And my answer never deviates, “ I want my son and I to experience a better quality of life.” Factors that play a role in the quality of life vary according to personal preferences, but they often include financial security, job satisfaction, family life, health, and safety. Before having my son I always knew I wanted to be a mom. I wasn’t sure what the journey would look like but I was sure I wanted to wear the title.
Giving birth to a baby amongst a pandemic shifted not only how I perceived the world but how I saw myself showing up in this new role. It didn’t take me 2years to realize this wasn’t the life I wanted for myself or my son. 8 months, I knew before he was 1.
No one: You Spoke it into Existence
Me: I always do 😉
One of my biggest pet peeves is hearing someone complain about their situation or circumstance without putting together a plan and working that plan to get out of it.
This still feels surreal.
Have you ever thought about leaving the U.S. to live abroad ??
