Too bad turbo sw20s are so hard to find nowadays, even importing them from Japan it’s now hard to find “the one”. They’ve become my dream car to own and tune (get it to a place just like this one). Hopefully within the next 5 years! Cheers from NZ.

I imagine even in Japan unmodified ones are getting hard to find? It's like trying to find a stock Golf IV 1.8T GTI in Germany. Nearly impossible, unless you want the car to have +200k kilometers on the clock.

OhMyKMPR these are ripe for import because of the year, 92/93 are now legal for import to the USA (25+ years old car)and there are companies actively importing.

OhMyKMPR yep, pretty much. I wouldn’t mind a slightly messed with one though since I would like to eventually do some tasteful mods like in this car. Main problem is that I’m a poor high school student going to become an indebted uni student and then spend most of my adult life working as an engineer to get rid of that debt. But I’m sure if I play my cards right I’ll be able to get myself a decent example as a uni graduation present ;) Hopefully there’ll still be mr2s around at a reasonable price then.

SirSquash problem is that all the other countries have already stolen the best examples and they’ve shot up in price, and even from Japan the ones that are left are mostly being sold and bought by enthusiasts so they’re usually modded and or thrashed. Whenever America gets access to old cars the pick goes to shit lol (rx7, GTR and now this... SMH. Can’t wait for the S15 to shoot up in price too hahaha)

Keith Anderson yep you got it exactly lol. I remember when you could find 1 owner, stock 240s for relatively cheap, now they've call been modded, beaten to hell, or wrecked. and if it's in decent shape, the price is most likely inflated sky high. same thing with mkIII supra.

Ceramic turbine wheel is interesting, RB motors spit out their ceramic turbine wheels after 12psi of boost. Do MR2's do the same?

I have an AFR gauge in my car; I don't watch it in real time, I hook it up to a laptop, log and analyze the data; I think that's what most people do with an AFR gauge.

Pa roads suck, especially after winter.

@@Kacpa2 the first time I drove into Poland from Germany I thought maaaan the polish people have amazing roads, I wish the German Autobahn is as good! But then I left the toll road and experienced the real polish roads... after that I thought our roads aren’t that bad, haha.

Johnny Annan really? My friend swears so as well but I’ve never seen one in the flesh. It’s pretty much my dream car at this point. There are only 2 turbos on trade me and they’re both insanely overpriced (good condition one for 18k) and a pretty average condition one with a lot of cosmetic damage and well over 210,000 kms for 8.7k. It’s kinda insane IMO. Still gonna end up getting one within the next 5 years but first party insurance is out of the question because all the companies I’ve spoken to don’t value any MR2s at over 7.5k.

Maxx Venter nah I’ve been looking for about 2-3 months and I haven’t found any turbos on trademe for less than 7.5k, again none in good nick as you say. A decent condition NA pushes 7k for the last few months.

He wanted something he could drive without feeling bad for putting miles and wear on a uniquely pristine car. It's like theres an SW20 I'm looking at but it only has around 30,000 miles on the clock and is fully stock and in perfect condition so I wouldnt want to purchase it and do an overhaul like the car in this video, or even drive it very much.

Hey mate, late response. My son is 6'4 and fits in my SW20 ok. Though I did remove the glove box to give his legs more room. On the driver side he fits in fine
