    Nice video, thanks for sharing. I've ordered my Civic Sport in the same Premium Crystal Blue. Must be the press car they had in Madrid, as the skyline is a dead giveaway and I've seen other channels using the same car.

    Nice spirited driving. Have ordered the Advance in the same colour, i was impressed when i had a test drive. On Carwow they did a 0-60 in 6.7 which is pretty decent.

    Thank you very much for your compliment! Regarding your question: During our spirited drive, we didn't pay attention to the fuel consumption, because this wouldn't representative. We just had fun! 🙂 But Honda officially states an average fuel consumption of 4.7 litres per 100 kilometres according to the realistic WLTP cycle. From our experience we can say that an average consumption of 5 litres per 100 kilometres can be achieved very easily with a normal driving style. (Christian)

    @@speedheads i drove this for about 10 kilometers in the city at 3.5 l/100km i believe pretty balanced uphill and downhill, i imagine this managing 4 l/100km long-term if you try hard, I believe it will do figures as good as Prius, combined is 4.5 l/100km no problem

    @@oenanthos2764 in that case at those speeds and stable rpms it shouldn't beat diesel figures by any means imo. It could technically work as a diesel aggregate and generate electric power for the motor but that's losing energy in the mechanical parts, battery and wiring and as long as you're keeping the diesel engine in its sweet spot rpm and torque it should technically be more efficient than converting diesel to electric even if this existed.

    In the mountains the sport mode was used. The Active Sound Control (ASC) is only activated during sport mode. Driving in normal or econ, the Civic e:HEV is quieter. (Christian)

    ​@@DedSec00 The 2023 Civic has an individual mode that can be used to adjust the drive, the steering and the display. But using the sport mode and sound off is a good question, because I don't have the car anymore. I have to figure out, if there is a way to change the volume or turn it of in sport mode. I'll let you know if I find out anything about it. (Christian)

    @@DedSec00 Yes, it is possible. Use the "indivudal" mode. There you can select "normal" for sound and choose "sport" for drive and steering. Then everything is sporty and the car is more or less quiet. (Christian)

    Fühlt sich die Beschleunigung eher wie in einem reinen Elektroauto oder wie in einem Verbrenner mit Automatik an? Sind die hörbaren künstlichen Schaltvorgänge auch bei der Beschleunigung spürbar oder ist diese konstant? Das ist der erste Civic der mir wirklich gut gefällt!

    Bei niedriger Geschwindigkeit, zum Beispiel in der Stadt, erfolgt ein rein elektrischer Antrieb und der Civic e:HEV fühlt sich dann auch wie ein Elektroauto an. Bei einer höheren Geschwindigkeit wie auf der Autobahn oder bei einer starken Beschleunigung, wenn man zum Beispiel mit Passion einen Berg hoch fährt und eine hohe Leistung angefordert, sorgt der Benziner für den Antrieb und wird dabei vom Elektromotor unterstützt. Das elektronisch gesteuerte e:CVT vermittelt nun das Gefühl einer wirklich guten Automatik mit konventionellen Getriebeübersetzungen. Im Alltag ist der Benzinmotor leise, ebenso auf der Autobahn, wenn man sich nicht gerade mit viel Spaß auf einer Passstraße befindet. (Christian)

    Nice driving. The hybrid train seems to be improved to the previous generation, also the gear imitation works very nice (although there are now gears, just an electric motor :). My question is - how does the car perform after going full throttle on a hill? I own a CRV hybrid, if the battery gets depleted - it basically doesn't accelerate. How does the civic perform in such conditions?

    When the battery is depleted you are limited to the power the combustion engine can continuously deliver directly to the electric system: around 145 HP. So it should be similar to the CRV. However, keep in mind that the CRV can be up to 250 kg heavier depending on the model. So the Civic will still be more dynamic uphill.

    Auf der Autobahn war es es nur ein kurzes Stück. In Spanien gilt auf der Autobahn ein Tempolimit von 120 km/h. Bei normaler Fahrweise lässt sich der neue Civic im Durchschnitt locker mit knapp über 5 l/100 km bewegen. Da Hybrid-System punktet insbesondere in der Stadt und auf Landstraßen. 🙂 (Christian)

    Not a plug-in-hybrid. The Honda Civic e:HEV powertrain consists of two electric motors and one petrol engine. In many situations the petrol engine serves as a generator for one of the electric motors, which in turn transmits the electricity to the electric motors that provides the drive. The system cycles between Electric Drive, Hybrid Drive or Engine Drive depending on which is the most fuel-efficient drive mode at that specific driving situation. On highways the system operates on engine drive. If further acceleration is required, such as when overtaking, the car will switch to hybrid drive for that additional performance boost. Additionally, when in Hybrid Drive, power from the petrol engine-driven generator can be diverted to recharge the battery, offering additional efficiency benefits. (Christian)

    @Archie Baldwin It was very hot outside, but comfortable and cool inside the car. The HVAC worked well. But I didn't try the heating - the outdoor temperature was too high. 😄 Concerning overtaking and acceleration: Just watch the video, e. g. at 7:27 minutes. 🙂 (Christian)

    @@ondrejstastny8613 The thing is my drive is only and only on Highways, I drive minimal in the city. So I'm curious if is a good choice since I'll almost never use the EV-only mode.

    @@1theblacksheep I think it’s a great choice for general purpose if you want just one car. But if you can say you’ll drive only oh the highway then it should work in a regular mode with the naturally aspirated engine with revs matching the 5th or 6 gear and then it’s up to you but its not likely to be less than 6 liters/ 100km unless you drive 120km/h tops. A diesel car will be more effective in this case and the whole hybrid engine in this car is completely useless for your purposes

    @@ondrejstastny8613 Yeah, I need to think about it, I live close to the highway so… I'll drive a maximum 7km with a maximum speed of 50km/h, and after that, I start to drive around 100 km/h - 120km/h. Of course, sometimes I got some traffic on the highway but thinking really well, I don't think I'll use the EV mode too much. I'm also considering buying a BMW 320D that could get easy 4.0/100L on a reasonable drive using diesel. The thing is, I really got fascinated by the Civic hahah Thanks for the message mate.

    It is a bit irritating: Honda calls it e-CVT, but the Civic e:HEV doesn't have a classic CVT transmission. It is a fixed gear transmission and the torque is modulated electronically. (Christian)

    Honda calls it e-CVT, but the Civic e:HEV doesn't have a classic CVT transmission. It is a fixed gear transmission and the torque is modulated electronically, instead of mechanically as you know it from other cars using a common CVT. Honda solved it well and eliminated the engine whining to a large extent. The only roar you get of the petrol engine is under hard acceleration as seen in the video, especially when driving uphill. But in everyday life the engine is quiet as you can hear in the video during casual driving on the highway and in the city. (Christian)

    Honestly, the 0-100 time is quite disappointing. With 315 nm of torque and 184 HP I expected it to be slightly faster, say closer to 7s than 8s. And apparently the Advance trim is estimated to be .3s slower than the base trim, probably due to the sunroof and 18' wheels. I hope it turns out to be a little quicker in real world tests, just like the H-RV HEV, which is a full second faster than the officially declared 0-100.

    It’s fwd and weight over 1500kg so what did you expect? 7.8s is very nice because this time is declared by Honda and it’ll be the same situation as it was with X gen. Honda declared over 8 sec, car was able to do 7.2sec.

    Honda usuallly says the car is slower than it actually is for about a second. that applies in most of their cars so probably the same here.

    It definitely needs a proper transmission! Honda need to make a new good automatic transmission to match their manuals, it's about the time!

    This 11the gen Civic eHEV doesn't even has a transmission. Honda calls it eCVT, but it isn't a CVT.

    Honda have excellent automatic gearbox but in US Accord with 2.0T engine.

    Thank you very much for your feedback. Why should I change the camera? The strong light was really difficult for a POV video. But the video has a clear quality. You can see it in high definition and even in 4K. (Christian)

    No thanks. I have a 10th gen 1.5 turbo. I won't buy a car which highest speed limited to 180 kmh. I won't sell my recent Civic ever. It's my 3rd Honda in a row, but this is the end. Good bye, Honda!
