What tips do you have for cooking a turkey?

Orange juice in the pot. I suppose you can select any kind of liquid for flavoring, but orange juice works well.

One Word: SPATCHCOCKING

This sounds like a great idea...but ive decided to go easy this yr and doing an oven ready cook in a bag (eg Jenny O). I think i know the answer, but i assume this technique cant be done for this over ready version thats not already alteady inside a bag but frozen (since thats the other beauty of it, u can somehow truly cook from frozen)

My dad used to drape 2-3 pounds of bacon all over that thing and it came out good. You can use the bacon trick for chicken, too. I would try the hot water thing with a chicken first, just to practice and find out if it works as well as they say.

People that really like bacon wrap it around just about every meat out there and, no surprise wrapping bacon around turkey is not knowing anything new!

Can I cook in a bag after the boiling water method

Would the boiling water cause fat and/or grease to leach out of the skin and wash down into your sink’s drain pipes?
