Thanks for the tip. I replaced the carb and sparkplug is it made no difference. When I took mine apart as you suggested, but I found the bolts were still tight on my adapter manifold. So I decided to pull it off to look behind it. It turns out there is a gasket between the cylinder port and the metal heat shield. Although, more than half of that gasket was missing on mine. It may have vibrated out, or gotten sucked in. But I found no trace of the missing gasket material. I cut a new one out of fel-pro gasket material, and bolted everything back together. It started right up after the initial start up sequence. Thank you so much. Your fix pointed me in the right direction. And I hope my feedback may help others than land here too.

I was a few steps from sending this blower into the trash. I did some research and heard all the stories and suggestions about fuel lines, filters and head gaskets. I then came across your video and you seemed more logical at your approach. I followed your steps, FINALLY this blower starts and runs!!! to be honest, I don't think it has ever started this quickly. I soooooooo thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wish I saw this video a few years ago. I have had this same blower for 4 years, and have had issues starting it from day 1. It usually starts but it is a 30 minute game! I followed your steps today and it started up immediately in the 30 degree weather. The blower then ran great, it felt brand new! Great video!

I thought I (120 lb female) just wasn’t strong enough to start the blower, but I wouldn’t give up, it was a new blower.. I followed your instructions, that piece was tight to begin with, I hopelessly tightened it a tiny bit more anyway. The blower started on the first attempt! Thank you so much! How on earth did you figure it out?! Genius!

thanks for this, resolved my issue, also found the gasket between the black connector and the heat shield was broken, I looked for a replacement gasket locally, online as well to no avail, went to an auto parts store and picked up gasket material, 1/64 inch thick and made one to fit, issue resolved.

I have an actual 48. Tried everything and no go. Any ideas?? Please. My unit Looks brand new. Owner sold it because he was moving and I happened to be buying his lawn mower and weed eater and asked about it before he could load it. Started right up at his house without problem and ran for a minute then I turned it off. It also started and ran for about 20 secs when I got home then turned off and won’t start for 2 weeks now. I emptied fuel and put it down for a bit then tried again again today. Tried this fix in video and no problems were found so Flushed fuel lines and put back together. Air filter looks brand new. New nonethanol 50:1 mix exact by me. New fuel and newly opened synthetic oil but oil bottle was a few years old. Don’t see spark even in pitch dark room. Plug looks good cleaned it anyway. multimeter tested good. Gap is good. Put it in weed eater and it started so plug is good. Plug wire looks good, good connection to spark plug. No spark with ground wires removed. Pulled coil out and all connection ohms are correct. Strong magnet. On off switch ohms correct in both positions. Carb adjustment and choke move as normal. Even checked the exhaust arrester screen... clean. Still no start. Can I shoot it?????? Or just walk around with it on my back wearing safety glasses and ear protection and pretend I’m looking for ghosts?? I am older so could get away with it.... I can’t think of any other options.
